📍 Gaya Island, Kota Kinabalu

Imagine a place where sapphire skies and turquoise waters meld into the rich days of an unending tropical summer. A place where the salty ocean air, mists through the leaves on the trees. ⁣

Here, you will make the unlikeliest of friends who call this place home — the reclusive proboscis monkeys, ever vigilant high above the forest canopy or the laid-back wild boars, frolicking by the beach. And your ears will feast on music that dips and soars with seemingly rhythmic beat; an orchestra led by the cicadas. Isn’t it amazing how nature has her way of inventing the most beautiful things?⁣

As you stare into the unending horizon of the South China Sea where the blue skies aswirl into violet, lavender and pink; and the day slowly turns to night, you find yourself staring into the vast expanse of space. Far away in the edges of the constellation, luminous stars flicker to life in the ocean of blackness. You heave a sigh of wonder. ⁣

Who knew that nestled within the serenity of Gaya Island in Sabah, tranquility and relaxation are never more than a breath away. This is what I imagine paradise to be. A dream within a dream, that I hope I could one day experience all over again. Here’s wishing it’ll come true...⁣

A much needed hike 🏔 on Ketumbar Hill. A very pleasant one , until we reached the top to see wild boars just waiting to attack. Haha. Neah they were very tame. The monkeys 🐒 I don’t like. Let’s plan our next one @biancalarainechan 💋

💚Discover Belum Excursion with pack lunch and return boat transfer. Attractions include: Rafflesia Spotting, visit an aboriginal village, bathe in waterfalls, light trekking and elephant salt lick. If lucky, can spot the Sambar Deer, Kijangs, Tapirs, wild boars, the Sumatran Rhino, Seladang and the Malayan Gaur, come down to the licks

With travel temporarily halted, we decided to explore the hidden gems within Singapore. Join us as we explore Thomson Nature Park, the 50-hectare buffer park unique for its rich cultural heritage as the site of a former Hainan Village. Thomson Nature Park is also home to a rich array of biodiversity and is notably a key conservation site for the critically endangered Raffles’ Banded Langur.

There are five trails within this park: Ruins and Figs Trail (1.50km), Streams and Ferns Trail (1.40km), Rambutan Trail (0.40km), Langur Trail (0.35km), and Macaque Trail (0.15km). Although we weren't fortunate enough to spot the elusive Raffles' Banded Langur on our multiple trips here, we did manage to catch wild boars and plenty of cheeky macaques.

May our videos be a form of escapism and source of zen for you, and encourage you to appreciate the little, simple things in life. Even in these turbulent times, there is still much beauty in this world if we keep our hearts and minds open.
