Bringing together women from a variety of backgrounds, the first European cohort of Women For Bees graduates arrived in southern France in June, for once in a lifetime training opportunity that will guide them along a new and fulfilling career path.

Led by OFA experts, this month-long training programme allows participants to acquire the theoretical and practical beekeeping knowledge required to mount and manage a sustainable beekeeping operation. The Women For Bees graduating class includes former public law professional Dorothée, volunteer beekeeper and environmental law graduate Lorène, former Guerlain Skincare Marketing Manager Charlotte, recruitment consultant and amateur beekeeper Oriane, former casting director Léopoldine, teacher Maël and conservationist Aggelina.

This World Bee Day, Angelina Jolie posed for a striking portrait for National Geographic to draw attention to the importance of protecting the bee. The actress and philanthropist sat down with Senior Executive Editor Indira A.R. Lakshmanan to discuss her role as godmother of Guerlain x UNESCO's Women For Bees programme for 2021, which trains women as beekeeper-entrepreneurs and protectors of native bee habitats around the world within UNESCO’s Biosphere Reserves alongside the French Observatory of Apidology.

Go behind-the-scenes of Guerlain muse Angelina Jolie's stunning bee shoot with National Geographic, shot world renowned photographer Dan Winters. Hundreds of live bees cover Angelina's upper body in the striking shot, which aimed to recreate the iconic 1981 Richard Avedon portrait “The Beekeeper". The secret: dabbing specific pheromones across the actress' skin to ensure that the bees didn't feel threatened. The shoot used the same pheromones and playbook formulated for Avedon’s portrait exactly 40 years earlier, with Winters carefully photographing Angelina at one with bees in California. The portrait honors both Avedon and his photography while bringing awareness to bees and beekeepers everywhere.

Longan trees almost blossom . This is beekeepers' busiest season.
With its gentle texture and rich aroma, Taiwan produces some of the best honey in the world.

　Mr. Ho , a second generation beekeeper :"I have spent my entire life chasing flowers", he declares. He often loads as many as 300 hives in the back of his truck and , . He travels from town to town in search of the best bee pastures. Sometimes this leads him into the remote areas deep in the countryside. His hard work however, has not been in vain and over the years, he has won countless awards and recognition.

　Natural honey has a shelf life of about 2 years; however, if the water percentage is too high, it causes fermentation and premature souring. Therefore, he keeps the water content around 18.2%.
Natural honey looks slightly cloudy. After shaking, it foams up with tiny bubbles and maintains the air bubbles for more than half hour.
He is content with his establishment and feels his greatest reward is to see the honey he produces enjoyed by others.

Today we have a very special video because me and Charlie are went Glamping together! It was really interesting and we also got the chance to visit a beekeeper with a lot of bees! When we were taking the bus back to our Glamping we found out that the bee “Bob” decided to move in with us!
