【類似飛行棋的唐仕女消遣】
兩名仕女在對奕，一女看似正在思考下哪隻棋，另一個則舉起手，胸有成竹地望著對方，其他在旁圍觀的人亦各有神態。
她們玩的是雙陸棋，即今天的百家樂棋（被視為「飛行棋」的前身）。這種遊戲最初由外地傳入，在唐元風靡一時。
作此畫的周昉擅長畫道釋人物仕女，而畫中仕女的細緻描繪盡現唐朝盛世中，女性地位的提高及社會風氣的開放。例如她們可以輕裝上陣展現自己的體態，露出手臂、脖頸、鎖骨。此外，諸如畫中棋手坐着的月牙凳、提壺的侍從、貴婦的服飾髮型等細節都表現出當時貴族婦女消遣的生活與情調。
雖有專家認為此卷乃是唐代周昉真跡，但亦有學者認為這是北宋時期的臨摹本。
