    《En busca del hombre》
    Una vez en Mali, subió a un taxi y el conductor le preguntó la dirección. Yerko le enseñó el CD y le dijo:
    —A casa de este señor, por favor.
    El taxista le miró incrédulo:
    —Disculpe, no sé donde vive este hombre.
    —Pero alguien lo sabrá, —le animó Yerko con una sonrisa —, podemos preguntar juntos hasta encontrarlo.

    Una hora más tarde, a mediodía, encontraron la casa de Toumani.

    —El maestro está,
    —le dijo el chico de la puerta —. Yerko pensó que estaba realmente de suerte, ya que Toumani viaja muchísimo. Ni en sueños había imaginado coincidir con el famoso músico, su máxima expectativa era recibir clase de alguno de sus alumnos.
    —Pero tendrás que esperar, —prosiguió el muchacho —, ya que él duerme de día y se despierta por la noche. Pero se ha levantado para conocerte.

    【找尋那個人】
    一抵達馬利，Yerko找了台計程車，給司機看專輯並說：『我要到專輯上這個人的家。』
    那司機一臉難以置信的回應：『抱歉，可是我並不知道這個人住哪裡啊！』

    如同身負任務般，Yerko面帶微笑鍥而不捨地回道：
    『沒關係，總會有人知道的吧…我們可以一起找到他！』

    一個小時過後的午後，他們來到了Toumani的家。
    門口站著一名男孩說：『是的，老師就在這裡。』

    Yerko不敢相信自己的幸運，因為他知道Toumani經常外出演出。
    在他瘋狂的想象中，從沒想過能真的見到老師本人，只期望能找到老師的學生並學習Kora。
    『但你需要等等，』男孩說，『因為老師通常白天睡覺，晚上才會起床。而他已經起床要準備見你了。』

    《In search of the man》
    Upon arriving in Mali, Yerko found a taxi. He got in, showed the driver the CD, and said, “To this man's house, please”.

    The taxi driver looked at him in disbelief and replied, “I’m sorry, but I don’t know where this man lives”.

    Like a man with a mission, Yerko urged him on with a smile: “But somebody will know… we can ask together until we find him”.

    An hour later, at noon, they found Toumani’s house.

    At the door stood a boy, who simply said: “The maestro is here”.

    Yerko couldn’t believe his luck, because he knew that Toumani is constantly travelling. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined that he would cross paths with the maestro himself. The most he had hoped for was to have kora lessons with one of Toumani’s students.“But you'll have to wait,” the boy went on. “He usually sleeps during the day and stays awake at night, but he has gotten up to come and meet you.”

    飛了一千八百哩，大雁飛來愛爾蘭過冬，從北地閃亮的凍原和結冰的城
    大雁來到這裡
    彷彿愛爾蘭古老的文字，牠們的身影劃過市郊上空
    低掠過公牛島，降落在林森市
    　
    　　
    一個寂靜的三月清晨，在呼喚聲中我醒來。大雁四散在我窗外田野
    宣告牠們抵達這較溫暖的氣候帶
    大雁有強烈的溝通欲，不停喋喋說著
    牠們來對了地方
    　
    　　
    這是說故事人的家園，這裡沒有僵化的「是」，只有獨特的
    肯定語法：「我做到了」，「我們就是」，「這就是」，一個內在的信念
    所以一千隻大雁與我，在這剎那，聚在我們共有的溫暖海岸
    毫無疑問我們相聚了，在這地球最可靠的角落
    　
    　　
    看到大雁，我想到我們曾如何長途跋涉，成為一個更溫暖的國度
    這裡有人帶著故事沿路分享，沿路我們讓愛

    Eighteen hundred miles, the geese fly to Ireland for winter, from the glittering tundras and icy cities of the northern world, arriving here,
    their silhouettes scratched like Ogham into the skies above the suburbs
    They descend on Bull Island, alight in Ringsend
    　　
    　
    On a still March morning, I am awoken by the calls, announcing their arrival in the warmer climate as they scatter across the field outside my window
    Geese have an intense need to communicate, always chattering
    they have come to the right place
    　　
    　
    The home of storytellers, a land where there is no solid word for yes, only specific confirmation, ‘I did,’ ‘we are,’ ‘it is’, a certainty at our core
    And so a thousand geese and I, at this moment, gather in the warmth of our shared shore
    there is no doubt we are together, in the surest place on Earth
    　　
    　
    When I see the geese I think of our travelled distance, to be a warmer country, one where those with stories come and share in the way in which we let love grow
    like gorse alight across our hills and when I see more birds
    coming steadily in
    With the thrill of the V formation, an easy understanding
    the gentle music of unified wings

    註：三月17日為愛爾蘭的聖派翠克節，也就是愛爾蘭的國慶日，在這一天愛爾蘭會以大量的綠色以及幸運草圖案的裝飾來慶祝這一天。「駐愛爾蘭台北代表處」和「每天為你讀一首詩」合作，邀請 Laura-Blaise McDowell特地為今天寫下這首詩〈可靠的家園〉，我們也邀請陳育虹為我們翻譯和朗讀。詩中以愛爾蘭最常見的野雁為象徵，以其空間的移動隱喻時間的推移，而聯想到愛爾蘭是這樣輾轉走過長久的歷史，從被英國殖民，復活節起義，到最後的獨立，以及和英格蘭的和解。這樣的歷史無疑是經過漫長殖民，在尋求出路的台灣值得認識而喜愛的。
