在台灣很多人用notebook來稱呼筆電，但是當到英美等ˇ國外地區，筆電英文真的叫notebook嗎? 那別人怎麼知道你在說筆記本還是筆電呢?
所以其實筆電的英文叫做 laptop (computer)，lap是大腿，所以就是指放在大腿上的電腦，也就是所謂的筆電啦!
另外桌電的英文除了可以叫PC(Personal Computer)，也常用desktop (computer)也就是指放在桌上的電腦唷!
註: notebook如要拿來當筆電的英文，建議加上computer就不會造成歧義(即notebook computer)。
