#假裝我們在城市 (上)​ -​ /​ 過去的週末賴在家看Netflix的紀錄片《Fran Lebowitz: Pretend It’s A City》​，年輕一代可能不大認識Fran，但相信大家很快就會被她的幽默感吸引！ ​ 此片由馬田史高西斯(Martin Scorsese)執導及演出​7集的內容，分別記錄了70歲的美國作家、評論家弗蘭利波維茲(Fran Lebowitz)​對現今的價值觀、公共運輸、文化藝術等社會議題的想法​。片中加插不少昔日紐約街頭的影片，​也有好些鏡頭在皇后博物館(The Queens Museum)拍攝​。 畫面中Fran身處紐約市微縮模型內，身形之大宛如一隻怪物​ 但畫面上呈現的是，套上淺藍色鞋套的她，小心翼翼地踏在「河道」上​。 ​ 我覺得，可能這就代表著(／導演想表達的）Fran對紐約市那種愛恨交纏的愛​。 ​ 儘管她對這個城市有好多投訴、怨言​（例如是效率極低又臭氣沖天的地鐵、周街都見到有人揹著瑜伽墊等），但她仍然在這裡居住，努力適應著這裡的種種​，凸顯出她對舊日紐約情懷的不捨，與對現今城市變化的無奈​，而同時，「變化」亦是紐約市迷人的地方​，因為——New York is never boring。 ​ ​ -​ ​ 紀錄片開首，播放Martin和Fran的座談會片段​，台下有人問可以如何學習幽默感​，Fran攤手回答：​ //How can one learn a sense of humor? Hello Pfizer! #BoosterShot 💉 As you all may know Sirhan and i completed both doses of Sinopharm in December 2020 and January this year which then made me more confident to travel back to Malaysia thereafter. Recently, I received my 1st dose of Pfizer following the announcement that booster shots given free by the UAE government are now available here. Although this is not compulsory but those that have completed their vaccinations can do so anytime 3-6 months later after their first round of vaccinations.. When Sirhan and I first took Sinopharm in December, we were one of the first that took it following the successful UAE clinical trials that had been completed in November. Just after taking our second dose of Sinopharm in January thereafter other vaccines such as Pfizer and Astra Zeneca were then available in UAE also for free. Alhamdulillah prior to taking our first Pfizer shot, Sinopharm has served us well with the travelling and most importantly slowly giving us a sense of normality again as when life was pre-pandemic. Just as when we took Sinopharm, we tried to do as much reading and research as we could about boosters shots and in light of the new aggressive Covid-19 variants such as Delta, Gamma and Lamdba showing no mercy, we made the decision to take our Pfizer shots when it would be made available to UAE residents. Since early 2020, the UAE government has been at the global forefront in this war and we applaud all the effort and services given to the residents of UAE with our safety as well as our wellbeing always as their number one priority. Researchers and health officials monitoring the real-world performance of vaccines studying to see how long protection lasts among vaccinated people are our heroes in ensuring that the UAE will continue to be vigilant in this fight against Covid-19. Our prayer is that with all of the initiatives taken to safeguard ourselves and loved ones that at the end of the day, we ask that we all be blessed with good health and longevity.
