Mouse mommy is also having the same problem that my boys are exactly first thing to look for their ipad once they wake up from bed! Sound scary right? But, that's true and my real life issue. Somemore nowadays will internet access that beyond my control and I unable to supervise my kids 24h a day! Mouse mommy is looking for ways to lead a more balanced lifestyle because I am worried about Internet Addiction and Gadget Dependency by my kids MR and MH, especially nowadays MCO that my kids are stay at home and able to access to internet at all time. This one’s titled “I Need to Fix That Hole in my Jeans”. . Jk! This one’s “Women Hold up Half the Sky”, eggshells and acrylic on wood, 100cm. . In 1968, Mao Zedong famously declared that “women hold up half the sky”. This makes me wonder if there will be any women’s representation in high level politics in China anytime soon. Last year, Malaysia elected its first female Deputy Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah) and having ministers like @yeobeeyin and @hannahyeoh has been encouraging. This work shows a woman speaking into a mic, reflecting my hope that more women will be actively involved in politics and governance. This piece was inspired by Chinese chess (xiangqi/象棋). The centre character, Shuai 帅, refers to the General; the two bottom characters, Shi 仕, are Advisors and the two characters on top, Xiang 象, are Ministers. A silhouette of a woman is a part of the character, Shuai 帅. . . “Future Relics” is series of 15 pieces that examines the role of a (Southeast) Asian woman in the 21st century, as portrayed on traditional Chinese vases with a contemporary twist.
