Silence speaks louder than noise, so let my silence speak for me for now. I will speak but when the time is right and on my own terms, not anyone else's. I'll not be a part of someone else's narrative, and like any decent human being, I'm on the same page as everyone on anti-bullying, wrongful and unjust acts, and discrimination.

I hope we can all rise up to our levels, stature, responsibility, and to the occasion. There are bigger things to live up to and be accountable for. For now, please enjoy Star Awards 2021 which I am proud to be a part of, and I know many of my colleagues have been working tirelessly on. 💙

Some say that news has no connection with most people’s life and it is waste of time for most of us to read newspapers and watch television news programs. Do you agree or disagree?
It has recently been proposed that news is irrelevant to people’s life and thus, there is no utility to be gained from reading newspapers or watching television news programs. This essay completely disagrees with this idea on the ground that news can be a valuable source of cautionary messages and it can also enhance the quality of one’s social life.
People can learn what to do and what not to do by reading news. The reason is that the news frequently broadcast wrongdoings that are condemned by society as a whole, as well as the consequences that the perpetrators have to face as a result of their actions. People who follow the news, therefore, can become more aware of the wrongful acts and become less inclined to commit them. For example, the incessant broadcast of the legal and professional repercussions that protestors participating in the violent demonstration in Capitol Hill in the United States may have to face undoubtedly deters potential protestors who try to incite violence in the future. Should people gain foresight about the consequences of unlawful activities through the news, they will be less likely to commit them, which is conducive to a safer society.
Moreover, staying up to date with the news can also enhance people’s social lives. In other words, constantly being updated on popular events through the news, many people will have endless conversation topics to discuss with others and thus, they will become good company and their social circles can be easily expanded. Furthermore, reading news also helps develop people’s critical thinking, as they are exposed to different viewpoints of the same event, which is not only advantageous in their social lives but also in their professional lives as well.
In conclusion, I believe the claim that news is useless is short-sighted because the benefits of reading news are manifold, ranging from helping people fine-tune their moral compasses to improving their social lives.

This video was recorded when I had the darkest thoughts in 2019. I tried to speak to a counsellor /psychologist provided by the company but she was not interested in listening and kept looking at her wrist for the time.

    Update:

After a few months of battling my depression and the case I filed against a few senior management, for violating business conduct, I was given a documented performance coaching. I refused to sign it, the reasons written were made-up generic.

They terminated me. I thought it was wrongful. I asked for financial assistance since I will be sent back to the Philippines, BROKE. I asked for a reconsideration of their decision. I asked my manager to call me. She did not.

Soon, you will learn what exactly happened. I will narrate how it started, the names, and all physical evidence will be revealed. I may lose internally, but you, as the jury, can decide. #Shorts

    Refined version:

I’m here at this press conference today for one reason - I’d like to tell you in my own words how sorry I truly am. I have to express my deepest apologies to my family, my wife’s family, our friends and all those who have loved me because I‘ve made a mistake. A mistake which I can never make up for. A mistake that is unforgivable. Because of this wrong that I’ve done, I’ve been reviewing and reflecting on my behaviour. Indeed, I’ve made a disgrace of myself. That’s why I’m here today to tell you that I shall bear full responsibility for what I’ve done.

It is true that I was under the heavy influence of alcohol that day, but being drunk can in no way excuse the grave mistake that I’ve made. I have felt deeply regretful for what I’ve done. I have found it difficult to face and accept myself. After reading the news report, I have found myself and my behaviour most shameful, deplorable, abominable, disgusting and absurd. I have pondered and reflected deeply on why I had not been able to exercise better self control and why lust would have had the better of me.

I shall bear full responsibility for what I’ve done. To that end, I shall do two things. The first thing is that I shall suspend all projects at hand until I found good in myself again and I have examined the way I’ve been conducting myself. The second thing is that I have, from the bottom of my soul, found myself to be ridiculous. Because of my wrongful behaviour, people around me, who have loved me, have been facing up to immense stress and pain. I hope that I could properly make it up to all those on whom I have inflicted pain. This report has made me reflect deeply on what I’ve done. The worst mistake that I’ve committed here is that I’ve gone astray from my former self. Last but not least, I need to say this to all those who have loved me once again: I have brought shame on you all; I’ve been wrong and I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Sammi. I don’t know what I am going to do in the future. I am a heartless and broken mess. I hope everyone will be kind enough to let me have the time (to make amends for what I’ve done).

10 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR DISASTER 福島第一原子力発電所事故

The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster was caused by the massive tsunami triggered by the Tohoku Earthquake on March 11th, 2011. This was a Level 7 nuclear event, comparable only to Chernobyl.

    1. Unheeded Warning

Before the disaster even happened, there were industry experts who warned of mega tsunami-generating earthquakes hitting the area every 800 to 1100 years, with the next one being overdue. But those in charge dismissed such warnings.

    2. No Good Robots

During the crisis at Fukushima, high radiation levels at the plant made it desperately hard for human workers to do what they needed to do.

Back in 2001, the Japanese had actually developed extremely capable robots that were deemed technical successes, but then a government task force concluded that a Chernobyl-scale disaster was never going to happen in Japan .

The program was shut down and the robots were dismantled or donated.

    3. Onagawa Nuclear Power Plant

The Onagawa Nuclear Power Plant was the closest power plant to the earthquake epicentre, yet it successfully withstood the barrage.

While the Fukushima Plant had sea walls up to 5.7 meters, Onagawa had it up to 14 meters.

    4. Wrongful Evacuation

Due to miscommunication between the evacuation authorities and the experts who were analysing the fallout, many residents were evacuated from pretty safe areas right INTO the radioactive plume.

    5. Evacuation Deaths

More people were killed by the evacuation process in Fukushima
than by the actual earthquake and tsunami, the disaster itself.

People died of fatigue, exhaustion, illness, suicides - losing their homes, not knowing where they would end up, cramped evacuation centres; the whole ordeal was taxing.

    6. Geiger-Counter Hobby

After the Fukushima disaster, random radiation hot spots were discovered in unexpected locations.

Radiation levels as high as those in the no-go zone were detected as far as some Tokyo suburbs. This prompted many Japanese residents to take up a new hobby - walking with Geiger-counters through their city or village in search for random radiation levels to report.

    7. Animal Guardian

55 year old Naoto Matsumura is the only man brave enough to live in Fukushima’s no-go zone. After the initial evacuation, he returned back
to take care of the animals that were left behind. Not just his animals, but everyone’s.

    8. Mutations

There were a few small scale Fukushima discoveries.

    9. Human Radiation Effects

No one died from radiation exposure in Fukushima.

And contrary to a well-publicised, yet poorly-executed, study
that made the rounds in 2015, thyroid cancer rates in Fukushima children were actually lower than the national average.

    10. Disobedient Hero

Masao Yoshida was the manager of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant and on March 15th 2011, he lead a brave group, now dubbed ‘The Fukushima 50’ into the radioactive trenches.

With cooling systems crippled and having run out of fresh water, Yoshida decided they would pump seawater straight from the ocean into the damaged reactors.

Then corporate headquarters (TEPCO) ordered him to stop the seawater injection. They didn’t want the corrosive seawater to permanently damage their reactors.

Feeling his superiors were inept for risking a colossal radioactive fallout, Yoshida disobeyed the direct order and continued with the seawater injection.

Many experts now agree that his actions on that day
arguably prevented a much greater catastrophe.
