Global warming is a big challenge for warm-blooded animals, which must maintain a constant internal body temperature. As anyone who’s experienced heatstroke can tell you, our bodies become severely stressed when we overheat.
全球暖化對溫血動物來說是一大挑戰，牠們必須保持穩定的內部體溫。任何經歷過中暑的人都會告訴你，當我們過熱時，我們的身體會感受到嚴重的壓力。

Animals are dealing with global warming in various ways. Some move to cooler areas, such as closer to the poles or to higher ground. Some change the timing of key life events such as breeding and migration, so they take place at cooler times. And others evolve to change their body size to cool down more quickly.

Our new research examined another way animal species cope with climate change: by changing the size of their ears, tails, beaks and other appendages.

We found most documented examples of shape-shifting involve birds – specifically, increases in beak size. This includes several species of Australian parrots. Studies show the beak size of gang-gang cockatoos and red-rumped parrots has increased by between 4% and 10% since 1871. We found clear evidence that birds with smaller beaks are also less likely to survive hotter summers.

So while predicting how wildlife will respond to climate change is important, the best way to protect species into the future is to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prevent as much global warming as possible.

迎風騎著單車 騎過了三個冬天
而當時的信念是
我是溫血動物 有體溫 能產生熱量
就像我相信胃酸和免疫系統的保護
所以不是很介意吃到稍微不乾淨的食物

現在比較保守了
保留一些熱量 身體也輕鬆一些
吃乾淨的食物 腸胃也輕鬆一些
不止不生病
希望能往更活力健康的狀態提升
反正在科技營造的安全環境中
我就大方享受不同於野外的生活條件吧

在合適的環境 行合適的作為
我聯想到小時候家父常催促我們洗澡洗快一點不然會浪費水
他說「當兵的時候只有五分鐘可以洗 你現在慢吞吞 到時候.....」
我那時候心裡想的是：
姊姊又不用當兵
而且我現在又沒有在當兵
難道現在也要先吃得克難
以免哪天戰亂饑荒降臨嗎😂

The jacket reminds me of the stubborn me during high school.
.
I survived three winters without any long sleeves uniform or jacket in Kaohsiung, where it can be cold at times.
Partly because of stubbornness, partly because of the trouble.
I believed I could generate enough heat to keep myself warm being warm-blooded.
It was no different to being cool when having slightly unclean food under the protection of stomach acid and immune system.

I am now more conservative.
Be gentle on my body by keeping myself warm and be gentle on my stomach by eating food that is clean.
My goal here is not only preventing from falling ill, but to elevate my physical well-being
Being in an age with safe environment brought about by technology, why not enjoy the life different to that in a wild environment.

Do the right thing at the right place.
It reminds me of how my father hurried my sister and I to finish shower, so not to waste water.
He said “You are only allowed 5 minutes to shower when you are having military service. How could you finish it on time at your current speed?”
My inner thought was that:
Sister is not going to have military service.
And I’m not in one now.
Do I also have to starve myself in preparation of famine or war times?
