「人們有時也會因為穿上衣裳而變聾。」 平常的閱讀習慣好像不是以一本為單位的，喜歡一陣子同時看三五本書，每天挑不同書的一個篇章來讀，然後花很多時間去回味。 最近在讀 @yuty_deco 借我的《樹之歌》，每天讀一棵樹，份量很剛好。好喜歡作者以聲音來切入。一邊讀著好像聽見了如鼓棒的雨滴們，輕輕敲著如鼓膜的、形狀各異的樹葉們。 下面節錄一段，從第一章「吉貝樹」： / 「 我沿著全長四十公尺的一系列金屬梯子爬到樹頂時，在不同的高度聽到了不同的雨聲：在距離地面一、兩公尺之處，落葉層和下層植被的雨聲逐漸消逝，我聽見的是雨點落在稀疏的葉片、向陽的枝子，以及蜿蜒的樹根上所發出的不規律聲響。 到了二十公尺高之處，由於樹葉濃密，那流水湍湍的聲音又出現了。在繼續朝著更高處攀爬時，我陸續聽見從各種樹木那兒傳來的雨聲：先是絞殺榕（strangler fig）那有如速記打字員一般「嗒嗒嗒嗒」的聲音，而後是雨點拂過多毛的藤蔓葉子時所發出的刺耳聲音。 我爬到湍流層的上方時，那嘩拉嘩拉的聲音就到了我的腳下。我開始聽見雨水啪嗒啪嗒打在肥厚的蘭葉上、滴在鳳梨科植物的光滑葉片上，以及輕輕落在蔓綠絨那有如大象耳朵的葉子上的聲音。 有成千上百種植物生長在這棵吉貝樹的樹冠上，樹上的每一吋表面都擠滿了綠油油的草木。 在這裡，人類用來隔絕雨水的裝置不僅派不上用場，還會妨礙聽覺。 雨衣雖能讓人不致淋溼，但在這熱帶地區，那塑膠材質會使人感覺更加悶熱，讓你一身大汗，由內溼到外。 此外，亞馬遜森林的雨聲和其他許多森林不同。你可以從中聽出許多訊息。因此，雨點落在聚酯纖維、尼龍或棉布衣物上時所發出的聲音，會干擾你的聽覺，分散你的注意力。 相較之下，人類的髮膚由於質地柔軟輕盈，顯得安靜無聲。對於雨水，我的雙手、肩膀和臉部是以感覺來回應，而非聲音。 當年西方傳教士到來後，堅持要這裡的土著（當時他們已經淪為殖民地的人民，並且改信了基督教）穿上衣服，但這項規定卻帶來一個意想不到的後果： 人們的耳朵裡逐漸只有自己的聲音，不再像過去那樣聆聽森林的訊息，了解自己與動植物之間的關係。 我和此地的土著瓦奧拉尼人（Waorani）談話時，他們幾乎都會主動提及他們穿著衣服前往鎮上時感覺多麼彆扭和束縛。 瓦奧拉尼人已經在亞馬遜森林裡居住了數千年，但如今他們的生活和文化卻飽受外來者威脅。 對他們而言，服裝的影響非常重大。我猜想其中原因之一是，他們因此無法透過聲音與他們所屬的群落連結。 這對一個生活在由許多物種組成的群落中的民族而言，委實是一項重大的損失。 誠如早期織布廠的工人因為受織布機的噪音影響而失聰，人們有時也會因為穿上衣裳而變聾。」 ____《樹之歌：生物學家對宇宙萬物的哲學思索》by David George Haskell / 最後想說，吉貝樹就是獵人HuterXHunter裡的世界樹吧！（發現的時候好興奮🤩）

In Offense of Queer Love⁣ ⁣ “Queer is deeply personal and public. It’s intensely individual and communal. It’s a verb and a noun. It’s the sexual and the platonic. It’s identity and it’s misidentification.⁣ ⁣ Queer is a rejection of the seduction of binaries” (@decolonialqueer)⁣ ⁣ What is love to queer people? Is there room for love for queer people of color when we must navigate the affluent whiteness in queer spaces?⁣ ⁣ Queerness perhaps stresses the importance of friendships—the ones we develop out of necessity, safety and survival. They are just as valid and important as blood relatives. As queer cisgender Asian American men, coming out often results in either a familiar “embrace” or “ostracism”. In fact, for AsAm (and other PoC) revealing their queerness to family often comes at the risk of losing family (read: support, which is already a rare source of affirmation and support in a white supremacist society). “Home” often is such a place/feeling of ambiguity and violence for queer folks. What does it mean to belong or even claim a home?⁣ ⁣ I know I love this Disney fanboi because I don’t just feel it, but I do it. Love for us is a deliberate effort to constantly question our own individual biases, critically asking, unpacking, unlearning, and building our own conceptions of “love”. For us, as a LDR, it is an investment (read: we exert effort). We are not knowingly vengeful (I’m working on my Moon Scorpio), and we take time to prioritize their love language. We tell each other the ways we articulate certain meanings can come across as insincere, so we accept and we allow for that change to happen. ⁣ ⁣ Happy 6 months to us ~⁣ ⁣ Also, big Agro-business corporations deliberately set the Amazon Rainforest on fire. They pay fascist government regimes (Bolsonaro) to ignore this.
