"I've been lucky that I've exchanged the most number of letters with my parents and sister." As i sit aimlessly on my bed as the clock strikes 3.40 am, I'm filled with nostalgia about little things in life.Those good old days! The things i love, the strange person that i am, the person that i was and the even stranger people in my life - about family about home and my teenage life - Things that used to matter to me when i was small, things that i now laugh at. Some random things cross my mind - Things like letters.The old charm of hand written letters never dies. Sadly, whatever happened to them?That magic! Call me old fashioned but till date, there's been nothing more overwhelming and exciting than receiving a letter through the post. I'd much rather receive a letter written full of love than text messages or emails that i don't even go back to read (most cases) from my loved ones. There were those days when I'd wait eagerly for letters from my mum and my dad way back when i was in 11th standard in Vizag. Letters - The only form of communication that i had with my parents apart from the one day in a week - thursday, when i needed to stand in a long queue to make a call to my parents. Reason - No mobile phones allowed in the school and hostel. And on most thursdays, i wouldn't even get a chance to call them because my turn never came within the alotted time. For most of my childhood, I've been a bad kid i believe - a rebel of sort, very stubborn. I still am. And in all these years I'm quite surprised & at the same time glad that I've exchanged the most number of letters with my parents and my sister than anybody else in my life. I have a stack of letters in between my diaries and books from my dearest elder sister who always left me a "be a good girl" letter - full of advice and love whenever she would leave home for her hostel. She would insert some amount of money in the envelope too. Always! Sometimes i wonder how they even put up with someone like me.In the end they say right?Family is everything And as i stood there that early morning with random thoughts in my mind& a book in hand, i remember this thought was one among them. We all have our moments!
