Hardwood floors are common in houses (especially in more traditional houses), but the vinyl/laminate floors are much more common in apartments due to their cheaper price. Laminate flooring (often marked as "sheet" flooring) seems like the largest market for new home builders right now--most showrooms we visited primarily offered laminate flooring. When we expressed concern with the sturdiness and longevity of laminate flooring, basically everyone just started recommending us higher-end versions of laminate flooring that have better sealing layers on top... Hardwood flooring is incredibly expensive in Japan. The catalogue we have shows prices up to TWICE the cost of the engineered hardwood we chose in this video.

At least there are tons of incredible wallpaper options that are relatively cheap! And there are quite a few places to get decently priced tile (mainly for walls, but for flooring as well). As with everything, you get what you pay for when it comes to quality and design... And of course, designer options exist as well, with absurdly unaffordable prices.

Ranked the world’s most unaffordable housing market, Hong Kong has long been struggling with a severe shortage of public housing as the number of applications and the waiting time keep breaking records. While public housing apartments are highly sought after by urban dwellers of all ages, not many are aware of the unique features and historical development of these estates.

Iain Cocks fell in love with the city’s public housing estates when he moved to Hong Kong from London 13 years ago. The kindergarten teacher often photographs the estates near his workplace during the week and visits those further out on his days off. Cocks' shots of urban density carry a style reminiscent of the late German photographer Michael Wolf. Apart from sharing his pictures on Instagram (@gaatzaat), the Englishman also keeps a record that chronicles Hong Kong’s public housing development over the years.

Even though I have seen this on web numerous times but this is the first time seeing "Dinner in the Sky" in action where diners and the chef are up at 50m above ground! Only after visiting their website I found out they actually have it in 40+ cities around the world and not unaffordable either! Lunch is €178 for two and dinner is €318 for two including drinks! Not bad at all!

雖然我看過許多在高空上吃飯的照片，但這次是我第一次看到真正的 Dinner in the Sky！客人以及廚師都在 50公尺高空上面享受美食！真的是太酷了！去了官網上才發現原來它們在 40幾個國家都有，而且也沒有太貴 😄 例如在芬蘭的 Helsinki 兩人午餐才 €178，晚餐兩人含酒+ 四道菜也才 €318，真的沒有想像中的誇張呢！有機會我一定要嘗試看看！不過 York 怕手機掉，我是想說食物有沒有夠好吃 :p 不知道有沒有人嘗試過呢？
