💯Punishment leads to fear. Fear leads to them being less of themselves & more people-pleasing out of fear of being punished again. When they grow up, you find them confiding in you lesser & lesser(again out of fear of being judged).The connection between child & parent becomes loose & disconnected. They end up gravitating towards familiar energy as a result of past childhood programming.That is pleasing their partners & changing themselves to fulfil the expectations of others. They yearn validation & approval. They ignore red flags & hang on to a relationship that doesn’t feel right due to FEAR OF LETTING GO. They FEAR expressing their feelings if they are being disrespected so they settle for less than they deserve. Why?Again, out of FEAR of being “punished”, being ghosted, being reprimanded. So they shrink themselves & with time, they lose sight of who they are. Even in jobs, they won’t know how to set boundaries, they overwork at the expense of their well being,they are afraid of expressing themselves to their boss, again, out of FEAR of being REPRIMANDED. It’s a familiar energy from childhood. Fear starts from childhood from how kids are brought up and how well their feelings are attended to by their parents. You want to bring up a mindful child, not a “careful” child. MINDFUL means SOUL-BASED. CAREFUL is FEAR-BASED. Also remember how you bring up your child is a reflection of how you were brought up. There’s no right or wrong to parenting but one thing you can reflect on is this.Do you have an amazing relationship with your parents? Because many say things like “oh I got whacked and rotan and I turned out fine”. Yes sure, but reflect in depth. Is the kind of relationship you have with your parents exactly the kind of relationship you wish to have with your kid? If the answer is yes, then all well and good. But if you wish you were more connected with your parents, you wish you could tell them everything without being judged, and you realised you are still traumatised and hurt by certain actions or words from them from your childhood, then ask yourself how can you parent your child differently so you can nurture a better relationship with your kid.

🎶 Somewhere beyond the sea she’s there watching for me 🎶 The sun, sea and sand with me have a very on and off relationship. I am very picky about going into the sea and have a checklist before I pick a beach that I will go into. 1. It has to be clean. Duh. But when I say clean I mean spotlessly clean. I rather not see any rubbish strewn on the beach at all. (We picked a beach where you have to pay a minimum charge because we knew it would be well maintained) 2. There must be a shower or freshwater immediately available as I really don’t like feeling sticky. ( I think I was traumatised as a child. Lol!) 3. I like a pebbled beach compared to a sandy beach so that I don’t get sand in all the wrong places. Another sticky situation I rather avoid. 4. If possible there are cold beverages on hand with some snacks to snack on after a quick swim. Yes I am Miss Finicky. We considered taking a ferry ride to the nearby islands but after our friendly and helpful hotel front desk staff recommended us a few beaches within Athens itself, we went with that idea. And what a great decision that was! We took a tram from our Syntagama Square which took us direct to the beach that we chose. It was so interesting to see the buildings in the outskirts of the main town and that magical moment when we saw the Aegean sea for the first time will forever be magical. I kid you not but the sea looked like sparkling gems. We both we super excited. We paid our entrance fees, got some sunbeds that came with towels, mineral water and slushies that was perfect for the hot summer weather. The biggest test was when we swam in the sea and I was delighted at how clear it was that I was able to see all the way to the bottom. The beach was covered with shiny polished pebbles with no sand and it took all my might not to bring some home with me. And for the icing on the cake, it may all be in my mind but I found the water not sticky and didint make me feel all sticky so much so that I didint take a shower till right at the end. Yay!
