Grill con dong (butterfly agama) thoroughly on coals until its dirt stained skin starts peeling off, then it is completely removed and cleaned. Chop the meat into pieces and fry in boiled cooking oil along with paprika, minced garlic, salt, and seasoning powder. Some vegetables used with the dish include que (Thai basil), hung cay (spicy mint)… all chopped with la me (teramind leaves) and young la xao dong (a fragrant leaf that grows wild in the woods). Mix the concoction with roasted peanuts to create the salad. This dish is best served with banh trang me nuong (Vietnamese grilled sesame rice paper).
