Bill Roseman รองประธานฝ่ายครีเอทีฟของ Marvel Entertainment ได้เปิดเผยในรายการพอดแคสต์ This Week in Marvel ว่าตัวเกม Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 จะเป็นเกมที่ดาร์คกว่าภาคแรกเล็กน้อย

ซึ่งคุณ Roseman ได้นิยามไว้ว่าถ้าเปรียบตัวเกมเป็น Star Wars ตัวเกมภาคที่สองก็จะเป็น Empire Strikes Back ที่วายร้ายอย่าง Venom จะก้าวเข้ามาสู่โลกของเกม

โดย Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 มีกำหนดวางจำหน่ายในปี 2023 บน PlayStation 5 เท่านั้น

"ถ้า Spider-Man ภาคแรกคือ Star Wars แล้ว Spider-Man 2 ก็จะประมาณภาค Empire [Strike Back] มันจะดาร์คขึ้นนิดหน่อย"
เขากล่าว

ซึ่งคุณ Rosemann กล่าวอีกว่า Spider-Man 2 "จะมีทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างที่ผู้เล่นชื่นชอบ" ทั้งใน Spider-Man ภาคแรก และ Spider-Man: Miles Morales แต่จะใส่เข้ามา "มากยิ่งกว่านั้น"

"จะมีศัตรูมากหน้าหลายตาเข้ามา และที่ผมพูดได้ก็คือ เนื้อเรื่องจะสานต่อและสนุกขึ้นอย่างมากจาก Marvel’s Spider-Man ไปจนถึง Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales ผมไม่อยากจะเปิดเผยอะไรมากเกินไปนัก แต่มันจะเป็นเนื้อเรื่องต่อไปแบบเล่นใหญ่ที่เต็มไปด้วยปมประเด็นเนื้อเรื่อง และตัวละครมากมายที่เคยอยู่ใน 2 เกมภาคแรก คุณจะได้เห็นพวกเขาในภาคนี้ด้วย"
