Well, first and foremost, what I want you to take away from this long post is that fitness is a long journey you have to walk by yourself. You can’t rush it. Slow is the fastest way. Only consistency and patience will give you the body goals you’re chasing.. ——— Supposed that you were about to start training and dieting to lose body fat and I told you that it took me 6 years to get to where I am now, would you believe me? Would you be willing to walk this path? It’s nothing like shredding 15kg in 3 months that they do with the marketing. It’s years. For me. To get there and to keep it there. Before getting into lifting, I already suffered from fad diets causing a fucked up metabolism and an unstable mentality. Counting calories just hit another dead end. We all know the best way to control what you put in your mouth is counting every single calorie. But I got haunted by it. And when it led to no where, I just quit. I did mindful eating instead. No more putting everthing (myself included) on the scale. I’m not obssessed by the weight or the way people look at me anymore. I’ve learnt to love my body and that no one got the right to tell me I had to get back to 48kg to have the best figure. I don’t. And I won’t. I know how how bad my health was at that weight. Being happy with my body shape is all I care about. The number on the scale can never measure that. It was never a linear path. My weight went up and down like a yoyo, depending on my mental state and how much I ate in that period of time. But I can see that, even the weight got back to 63kg, all the muscle I put on saved me from looking like a fat ass like I used to. That’s why I never give anyone the exact amount of weight they can put off. The answer will always be “it depends”. There is nothing absolute in life. Keep that in mind. Just lift weights. Don’t be afraid of putting on muscle. Take control of what you eat. Be patient and consistent. Sooner or later, the results will come.
