Some decent dishes at Yong Fu! ✨The sea cucumber ma po tofu was no less outstanding than my previous visit around a year ago, although the spice level had been ramped up considerably. Frogs legs were surprisingly one of the most scrumptious bites served up on that table, with peas giving a sweet pop of flavour. The sweet wine marinade of the crayfish was positively addictive, although quality of the crustacean itself was somewhat questionable. Gorgeously marbled beef was presented in its raw form before being whisked away to be cooked and served with a mildly spicy vegetable broth. However, the sesame dumplings which I had been so eagerly looking forward to probed to be a surprising disappointment. Rather than the plump spheres bursting with a robustly intense sesame filling that I had a year ago, this recent version seems to have been somewhat deflated and lacking in the salubrious explosion of flavour that makes this a signature dish.
