I was a little worried I would turn and my pony tail would fall off 😭😭😭😭 I wanted to move a little slower but I was excited lol This was my first year as a competitor, in my first competition I won my pro card. My second competition I dropped 8 more KG and took home PRO OVERALL If you were to ask me what my motivation was? It’s family I have people that believe in me more than I believe in myself and I do it for them, to prove that there faith isn’t misplaced. after my first comp I didn’t realise how many people I inspired so my motivation for overall pro was a little different. It was for anyone that looked at me and thought ‘I gotta get my shit together’ or thought ‘maybe I can give that a try’ This competition wasn’t about me, it was about creating something bigger than me. I’m going to continue to set myself new goals and achieve new heights because if I say I’m going to do something you best believe I’ll do it. Thankyou so much to everyone who supports me, I could do this on my own. She showed up for herself. I’ve not been active at all since I’ve been away from home in KL. It’s not me to stray for too long but I had to listen to my body. It will always be difficult to restart and work on a slightly different system. I’m weaker and slower but I’m back and that’s all that matters. Be your own hype girl! When we women reach perimenopause in our 40s our exercises need to shift due to factors such as hormonal as well as loss in muscle mass, loss in bone density and therefore slower metabolism. So instead of doing crazy diets eating less and increasing cardio exercises you might find this instead increases your cortisol- your stress hormone -, resulting in more weight gain and likely less sleep. So what we need to do is : - more weight strength training as more muscles mean more fat burn and increases metabolism and build your bones - Eat more nutritional micro nutrients food - more yoga, stretch flexibility and meditation for better sleep and better mind - cyclical training, fit training to our monthly cycle - do cardio get your heart rate up, but remember more is not necessarily better. - be kind to yourself. Be kind to your body, be kind to your mind. - acceptance and letting go that with age we change but we can adapt. It's a work in progress and a journey, and what I realise it's not about how you look but about how you feel. I know some of you have been asking me so I hope this post helps.
