March 16th, 2020. I got back to Taiwan a week after rupturing my achilles filming in Canada. I was born and raised here before moving to Chile at 17, but had not spent more than a few weeks here ever since I left 19 years ago. This week marks exactly a year since I got back. For 7 months I was restricted from physical activities and anything mildly (and financially) productive, clueless on what's gonna happen with my career during the Covid-era. In October 2020, I started a small project called "Snowsensei Freestyle Sessions" and once again, doing things that I absolutely enjoy doing, building an awesome team with truly nice people, meeting and teaching some of the most passionate and talented snowboarders that I have ever had the honor of meeting. I continued filming tutorials to keep @the_snow_sensei alive, finding other ways to promote the #standingsideways lifestyle. Even climbed a 3000+ meter mountain when Taiwan was hit by the strongest cold front in years, just so we can get a few turns down. All that in the sub-tropical island of Taiwan, thousands of kilometers away from the nearest "real" snow resort. God is amazing, when he closed one door for me, I realized that I was pointed to another wide open door, with far greater view and bigger things on the other side.
