“Taste like home” - @candysbycandy . I can assure you all, Candy’s baked goods really do live up to this lovely quote. Candy is a part time home baker and she’s literally just as sweet as her name. I remember even before sending out her baked goods, she texted me and asked what kind of flavours I normally prefer, in the end I received all her best selling ones🥺 Regular Teatime Box RM38 2 slices Butter Cake 2 slices Marble Cake 2 slices Houjicha Chiffon Cake At first I wasn’t convinced that these old cakes will still have a huge appeal to the crowd, especially these days when there’s more fancy desserts to choose from. Honestly my previous butter cakes experience was pretty normal & they never seem to hit the spot. But the ones from Candy, really slapped me hard on the face. Such a great wake up call that these old but classic cakes haven’t lost their charm. I got to say that my favs were the Marble & Butter cakes! So soft, moist and less sweet. I prefer the marble ones more, both the chocolate & vanilla components have the perfect yin-yang relationship. Though they’re distinct on their own, they harmoniously marry each other in terms of texture & consistency. I even had to pause for a second because they were just that good, still warm when they arrived. Also I think she added a bit of cocoa powder, tasted bitter but definitely better🤎 On the other hand, Houjicha Chiffon was not as fluffy & moist, the top was a bit burnt hence the dry skin texture. But the roasty & earthy flavours were still there, it would be better if there’s a cream to pair with! Still not done with these buttery goodness, Candy’s homemade cookies were just as delish too! They reminded me of the ones I love to munch on during CNY so addictive🤪 Classic Chocolate Chip RM28 Classic Butter RM28 Coffee RM32 🌻 Mixed Berries RM32 🌻 Jam Butter RM32 🌻 These were my personal favourites, my brother preferred the chocolate chip cookies more, she also sells Matcha flavoured ones🌱 Thank you Candy for making me realised that less is the new more, I’m starting to believe this and I hope one day you do to ☺️ Do follow her for more hearty baked goods💝 *Swipe till the end for some FLOOF

There’s just something really satisfying about having my cake out of a box😗 Tried these very pretty cakes from @bakebox.sg , in 4 flavours, 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞, 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞, 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐨 and 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧✨ Enjoyed the Black Sesame, Biscoff Latte and Mango Sago as the flavours were pretty on point. Blueberry Lemon not so, as the flavour combi was abit weird for me😅 👍🏻👍🏻𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐨 Really loved this as the mangoes were really fresh, sweet and juicy🥰Every bite is filled with the fragrance of mangoes and i enjoyed the bite from the sago. Recommended !☺️ 👍🏻𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 Bssm lovers will definitely like this. From the cream to the sponge, the nutty fragrance was strong and roasty👌🏻 As a mochi lover, i enjoyed the incorporation of soft, chewy mochi - its not the very stretchy type, which i thought fits the cake overall as the layers come together quite well✨ I also liked how this came with bssm crumbles which was thoughtfully packed separate to retain their crunchy texture👍🏻 Definitely a great addition to the cake, though i thought the crumbles could be less sweet! 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞 Pretty sweet but you definitely get a strong dose of biscoff, together with fragrant coffee notes. However, while i enjoyed the cream which was rich in cookie butter flavour, it had a rather oily mouthfeel reminding me of buttercream which i’m not a fan of😅 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 Tasted rather artificial and medicinal, especially the blueberry elements, hence i didn’t quite enjoy this😅 Felt that the pairing with lemon was pretty odd; perhaps if it was a pure lemon cake i would’ve liked this as i enjoyed the sourish and citrusy zing of the lemon🍋 Overall i enjoyed the cakes, but i did think that consistency is also a point to be improved on, as the cake layer differed quite a fair bit across the 4 boxes i got.
