Everyone Has this Precious Gift
“For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, proving what is well pleasing to the Lord. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of. But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light. Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Ephesians 5:8-17 WEB)
This passage is always a perfect wake up call, helping me to refocus on the things that matter most in life.
Every day we have a fixed amount of time and so many things fight for our attention.
Sometimes I feel like it would be great to have more hours in each day, but ultimately, it’s a matter of prioritizing.
If Jesus is your Lord, then you are a child of light. Walk wisely as one by allowing yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit.
We need to keep receiving the light of revelation from God’s word which guides us on how to lead our lives in a way that glorifies Jesus.
The wise redeem the time by treasuring the gift of time, prioritizing it such that none goes to waste in doing evil deeds.
Don’t be foolish in bearing grudges or plotting revenge—that’s a waste of time and doesn’t glorify Jesus. Why not just let it go and trust God for abundant restoration for your losses and pains?
Worrying and being fearful is also a waste of time. Why not use that time to pray and meditate on God’s word? At least that brings you closer to your breakthroughs!
Treasure the time with your family and loved ones—be present with them and make lasting memories. Smile, hug and kiss a lot, because to show love is a wise way to use time. Above all, worship Jesus and pray together—that’s the best.
What is the overarching will of the Lord Jesus? His main priority is that more people receiving salvation by placing their faith in Him.
Don’t underestimate what can happen when you choose to sow some time each day into studying God’s word.
You’ll feel like your soul is enriched, your mind will be prepared to share the Gospel, and great wisdom will be imparted to you to meet all your daily challenges.
These are just a few benefits. But nothing profits a man more than investing his time into God’s kingdom.
I pray that we will treasure and prioritize the precious time we have on earth, to maximize our impact for Jesus, so that God’s kingdom is strengthened and expanded here on earth.
The time for Jesus’ return feels near, and the fields are still ripe for the harvest—let’s partner to win souls, for he who wins souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30).
