Snapshots of our June school holidays - we stayed at home most of the time but still had a blast. We did a staycation where we dined in 100%, went hiking in Clementi Forest, cycled, played badminton, went on the Luge and rediscovered the fun in visiting Adventure Cove Waterpark all over again.

Even though there wasn’t any travelling involved, I think we did enjoy the school holidays. Kids woke up late almost every day and played video games to their hearts’ content. And among all of these, we still managed to spend time together. In the end, it’s how we make the best of everything despite how COVID has disrupted our normal routines.

Now, please excuse me while I emo with my kids before school starts tomorrow. 😅

An expedition team in Venezuela, supported by American Bird Conservancy, rediscovered Urich’s Tyrannulet, a flycatcher bird endemic to the cloud forests of northeastern Venezuela.

It has only ever been seen four times since 1899. The last sighting was in 2005, and it was one of 16 bird species in South America no one had reported in eBird, which prompted a team of ornithologists and local naturalists to go looking for it and find out if it had gone extinct.

10 thought about my first 4 months in NYC

1. Forget about good hair. It’s windy all the time.
2. I failed to find any working musician that didn’t impress me.
3. I certainly would have been a decent ‘borader’ if I grew up here.
4. I rediscovered my love for music.
5. A few reliable friends could already make you live your life fully.
6. I can’t have too many jazz or my mind would collapse. I need a mix of everything.
7. Being a student again didn’t make me feel younger.
8. Every single person I encountered in NYC are working on or dreaming about something exciting
9. It’s been the most luxurious period of time of my life. A time that I was solely working on my own dream.
10. NYC is a musical heaven. But I need to be in Hong Kong, like how I need music.

i rediscovered and reverse engineered (LOL) this recipe that my grandma used to make for us back when she was still around and it's SUCH a tasty and easy dish to make for lazy days, especially when you haven't gone grocery shopping in a while. i know a lot of families make variations of these but from what I was told, my grandma (who was an avid cook) was the first person to make this and share the recipe hehe.
