I’ve seen comments and messages like this in the past and the mind behind it disturbs me so much because I know so many people struggle through trying to figure what their identity is. This post isn’t just to this comment I received in particular but my answer to the way of thinking in general. First go to my bio and listen to my TEDx talk “define yourself” See, just because my father is Indian will not simply make me Indian. I have a mother too and she is Japanese which makes me Indo-Japanese if you ask me to define my ethnicity. My nationality is Japanese because I chose to carry a Japanese passport and not an Indian passport. If you ask me what am I, I am Priyanka and I am much more than my race. Answering to some of the things that were mentioned in the comment would be (I don’t even know why I am answering to such a meaningless suggestion but 😂) I must live where my heart says to live, I am fair to myself of the things I choose to do in My life, I do not choose where to live by the countries size, currently I run a business from Japan and I have a role to play for my community and hoping to enter the bigger market. Eventually I will set up a second base outside of Tokyo but it won’t be in India don’t get me wrong I love India and I will continue to work and travel there. I would like to call myself based in Tokyo for now but if you know me well enough you would know this and I go wherever life takes me. Lastly for racism, yes Japan does have racism but so does India and other countries in the world. I do not run away from them but instead I am trying to create a positive impact through the work I do and that is why I am focused on “diversity” To all of you trying to box me : That is one way of racism. I am who I chose to be and I am much more than just being a “Ha-Fu” my father does not define me and neither does my mother. Alhamdulillah TabarakALLAH. My son @danishanaqiaaron baru je publish buku pertama dia utk kanak kanak. Buku dwi bahasa yg mengajarkan kanak kanak tentang ‘racism’ ‘bullying’ hanya kerana wajah dan kulit yg berbeza. Congrats my Son and also his tuition teacher Ms Anita yg tolong dia with the proper vocabulary and my cousin Hanafi for the illustrations which I think is awesome!! Nanti kan LIVE saya dan Danish for more info. @kurakurapublishing

Foreigners who live and work here contribute to our economy and society. They are very much a part of our local community.

Yesterday in Parliament, Lawrence Wong moved a motion for Singapore to stay open in a globalised world. He also asked Parliament to support the government’s management of the foreign work pass numbers, and to deplore the spreading of misinformation about FTAs like the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) to stir up racism and xenophobia.

Our policies on foreign workers have created many jobs and opportunities. Still, Singaporeans are anxious and concerned about competition from the foreigners working here. We are addressing these concerns, and the problems caused by having a large foreign population in our midst. But as I said at the National Day Rally recently, we must remain open and welcoming to foreigners. If we turn inwards and become hostile to them, it would ruin us as a global hub and cost us investments and jobs (https://go.gov.sg/ndr2021-el).

The debate stretched past midnight. It was an important debate. At stake were not just our policies on foreigners, but the values of our society, and our confidence and resolve to face an uncertain world, and chart our way forward together.

I am glad MPs took a firm and unequivocal stance against racism and xenophobia, and firmly rejected attempts to use Singaporeans’ fears and anxieties to divide and weaken us. It bodes well for our future. – LHL

2021年9月5日（日）、神奈川県相模原市南区（相模大野駅前）で行なわれたヘイトスピーチ街宣に対する抗議（カウンター）の記録映像です。

罰則付き差別禁止条例が施行された川崎市で差別扇動を目的とした街宣を繰り返し行うヘイトスピーチ団体「日の丸街宣倶楽部」が、罰則付き差別禁止条例の導入が検討されている相模原市で街宣を行いました。
同団体は、この街宣の直前にも川崎市の新百合ヶ丘駅前で街宣を行っていました。
差別を許さない市民が今回も多く駆けつけ抗議の声をあげました。
レイシストが活動を続ける限りカウンターの罵声は止むことはありません。
