Located off Cintra Street and hidden from the general view, Boey Chong Kee is a bygone taste from the old Georgetown brought to this modern era. The Cantonese restaurant is located at the ground floor of People's Flat, and even some Penangites, especially the younger generations may be oblivious of its existence due to its austere facade. Named after its own owner, Boey Chong Kee restaurant is a family business, serving unpretentious dishes in a quondam setting. There are only simple home cooked dishes here but not any extraordinary taste that come with an impetus taste, but many Penangites would reminiscent the long lost flavour. Among the must try here is stir fried egg with glass noodles & carrots and stir fried beef, though be mindful that the overall bill may not be cheap. On top of that, impatient people would find it hard to dine in here as there are limited tables and the restaurant is always packed with crowd.
