Solidarity and cooperation among the nations of the world remain key to combating our shared enemy, COVID-19. It is important that the world recognizes Taiwan as a key stakeholder in the global quest to end the #COVID19 pandemic and build better health security for all.

On the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, US President Joe Biden hosted the Global COVID-19 Summit: Ending the Pandemic and Building Back Better. POTUS clearly understands that #TaiwanCanHelp —our former Vice-President Chen Chien-Jen 陳建仁 was prominently featured among other heads of state and leaders from international organizations, the private sector, philanthropies, and non-government organizations attending the summit.

VP Chen assured his host and other participants that Taiwan will uphold its resolve to support our friends around the globe during these trying times. Taipei will continue to donate medical supplies to help fight against the spread of COVID-19, and will contribute to a global health fund that the United States plans to establish.

China's fear prevents Taiwan from participating in the World Health Assembly. This is to the detriment of everyone, as our nation has proven to be resilient and resolute in facing the pandemic. Knowledge is power, and we wish to share ours to foster equity. That being said, it is encouraging to see that Washington is helping to devise alternative channels which enable us to do our part in strengthening the global public health regime.

Cutty Sark is a range of blended Scotch whisky produced by La Martiniquaise. The whisky was created on 23 March 1923 as a product of Berry Bros. & Rudd, with the home of the blend considered to be at The Glenrothes distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. The drawing of the clipper ship Cutty Sark on the label of the whisky bottles is a work of the Swedish artist Carl Georg August Wallin.
