Eventually, hybrid car batteries need to be replaced & the old battery must be handled responsibly - it absolutely cannot go into landfills because its harmful to the environment*. The people at Volvo look at each battery to determine what to do - either service the battery for re-use or recycle it in a responsible way, even repurposing them for solar panels for poorer communities.

*(same goes to our everyday AA batteries etc., btw ! Don’t put them in the normal bins, there are specific ways to dispose of them — google the nearest drop-off bin - Volvo dealerships have battery disposal bins too).

因為較貧窮的國家目前正在應對嚴重的疫苗供應短缺和病毒疫情爆發的狀況：而他們的疫情及群聚感染，可能使病毒再變種。美德英歐等國家開打第三疫苗，未必可以防止未來再一波疫情。

前日英國研究機構剛剛公佈報告：若病毒一直變種，總有一天，現在的疫苗會無效。

世界衛生組織 (WHO) 週三表示，各疫苗掌控國至少在 9 月底之前，應停止加強注射第三劑。這將有助於緩解富國和窮國之間疫苗分配的嚴重不平等。

WHO表示這才能幫助抗擊全球對抗這場超過 425 萬人死亡的大流行病。

世衛組織總幹事譚德塞說：“我們不能接受已經使用了全球大部分疫苗供應的國家，再優先使用更多疫苗，而世界上最貧窮的人群仍未受到保護。”

8/1日以色列已開始向 全國60 歲以上的人，提供輝瑞第三劑疫苗注射：他們稱為加強針。

世衛組織表示，暫停施打第三劑將有助於9 月底全球每個國家至少 10% 的人口接種疫苗的目標。

華盛頓雖然尚未宣布加強疫苗接種計劃。但白宮已向輝瑞及Moderna 下了四億劑新疫苗的訂單：白宮也拒絕了世衛組織的呼籲。

奧布萊恩補充說：但當下最重要的是“我們需要把重點放在那些衞生條件最脆弱的窮國人民身上。”

世衛組織長期以來一直認為，只有每個人都安全，否則沒有人是安全的，因為冠狀病毒傳播的時間越長、範圍越廣，出現新變種的可能性就越大——並延長大流行的全球危機。

世界需要每個人的合作，尤其是控制著全球疫苗供應的少數國家和公司，”譚德塞特別呼籲有影響力20 國集團。

Many people (like 5!) asked me about my views on climate change so here it is! The video can be pretty tedious if climate change isn’t a topic you are interested in in the first place, but I felt that climate change is such a complicated topic that without a long ass video I can’t really properly explain my disdain for Greta Thunberg’s speech.

Yes I know she’s a teen and she’s autistic but it doesn’t change the fact that she’s preaching a dangerous message that will have serious negative economic impact, especially on the poor and for poorer countries.

If you can’t be bothered to watch the entire video, here is the TDLR: The climate crisis cannot be solved simply blaming people for their greed. Everything comes at a cost and the current climate situation is the price to pay for the peace and prosperity that we all enjoy. Everyone is to blame. To implicate change comes with cost, which doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to improve the current climate situation, but people should be made aware of the cost first.
