When we received the report that my father, Fukujuro, was jaundiced and had little time left to live, about nine of us including my mother, my family, and my brother's family gathered at the hospital where he is admitted. But due to the COVID-19 protocol at the hospital, only my mother and I actually got to see him. He had been in a coma-like state, barely opening his eyes, but he occasionally responded to our words, and the way he sometimes even tried to playfully move his body to react was simultaneously painful and touching. During the 15-minute visit, I was moved by my mother's modest and sincere words of gratitude to my father. My grandparents had died young, and I don’t remember my father's father passing away when I was four years old. So this is essentially the first time I will eternally part with a family member, and my heart and mind remain restless. GUCCI ARIA COLLECTIONにご招待頂き、 九段ハウスに行ってまいりました。 陽の光が燦々と降り注ぎ、緑豊かな中庭を吹き抜ける風が火照った頬をさます気持ちの良い旧屋敷。この建物、元は山口萬吉さんという方の、昭和2年に建てられたスパニッシュ様式の大邸宅。東京のど真ん中に、こんな趣のあるレトロ建築があるとは。 大理石の階段や和室、半室内のベランダに半円窓、大食堂に応接間と、調べてみると見どころ満載の有形文化財ですが、今回はGUCCIによる装飾のため見れるのはエントランスと中庭のみ。いつか一般公開などがあれば是非全貌を拝見したいものです。 さて、今回のコレクションは、GUCCI100周年を祝うコレクション。創設者グッチオ・グッチが働いていたというロンドンのホテル「SAVOY」にオマージュした架空のナイトクラブ「SAVOY CLUB」が舞台。迷路さながらの暗い廊下と怪しげなネオン色の照明が雰囲気を盛り上げていました。バレンシアガとの初コラボもあり、「コロナで分断されがちな今だからこその発想だと思います」という担当Mさんの言葉が印象的。 「羊さん、ぜひお着物で！」 とMさんにリクエストをいただいたので、 「夏着物×GUCCI」の羊コーデで参上。大層喜んでくださったスタッフの皆さんの笑顔を見ながら、ああ、やっぱり着物は、着るだけで人を幸せにするのだなぁとしみじみ。私自身も、久しぶりにお遊びコーデを考えるのがとても楽しかったことよ。キモノらぶ。 さてと、 夏のお出かけも出来たし、 セリフ覚えるか。（超現実） I coordinated "Kimono x GUCCI" and saw the GUCCI ARIA COLLECTION held at Kudan House!
