#Repost @ascoltostudio 🦵🏼🦵🏼Hamstring post no. 3️⃣🦵🏼🦵🏼 (Chi version in comment 👇🏼) Further to a post 2 months ago about HAMSTRING TIGHTNESS (➡️ https://mewe.com/p/ivymokhealththerapy/show/6005b9a2dd0f120de710214d ), I treated a patient last week for her hamstring tightness which could be a good example for this third post: “How your internal organs affects your hamstring?” A female patient, yoga enthusiast, was referred to me for treatment due to abdominal bloating, abdominal pain (medical history: weaning off contraceptive pills for controlling endometriosis). During the 1st treatment, I found the biggest tension on small intestine & stomach. Treatment done, she didn’t experience much change. During the 2nd treatment, I found the biggest tension on left pelvic region. It was the inferior peritoneum which separated her loops of small intestine & uterus (see photos) & left ovary that had tension. She also got several adhesions on loops of small intestine, then left broad ligament (see photos) of uterus, left proper ovarian ligament, adhesion of left ovary, causing her adhesion far back to sacral bone lesion (indeed the pelvic organs are very close to sacral bone, unlike what you might imagine). All the above was treated during 2nd treatment, together with the two ligaments I mentioned in previous post (sacro-spinous & sacro-tuberous ligaments) and the sacral nerves, sciatic nerve. I explained to her all these might be causing her not only her endometriosis and digestive issues, but also, her left hamstring tightness. She looked at me with skeptics but she was open enough to accept “organs might be the culprit”, as she has been in tightness and pain even on level ground walking for over 9️⃣ months, with regular yoga practice, standard physiotherapy, and osteopathic treatment with no success. 1️⃣ week later, she came back, with no episodes of abdominal pain in the past week (she has been on really strict gluten free, wholesome vegetarian diet for 1.5 years) and to her surprise, her hamstring tightness & pain was GONE a day after the treatment. I hope we all can think more about WHAT causes us pain, and don’t just blame our muscles. Stay well! 💪🏼

Your posture is not what you choose. Your posture is a resultant balance based on all the tension of your whole system, including your musculoskeletal system (which the majority can relate to this and put maybe too much focus on it for perfecting a posture); your visceral system (tension of your internal organs); your neuromeningeal (tension on spinal cord, nerves, meningeal system i.e. dural membrane); your vascular system (tension from arteries & veins) and last but not least, your fascial tension (all kinds of fascia connecting different parts of your body, from superficial fascia under the dermis to peritoneum or even the Galea aponeurosis (a thin yet tough fascia on your skull).
