Francis Fong Po-kiu, honorary president of the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation, said despite repeated assurances the data was only stored in users’ devices, the public might still be sceptical of how the government would handle the information.
He called on the government to specify situations when data collected via the app would be accessed by police.
“If the government fails to address privacy concerns, it will only prompt more people to evade the requirements by giving false information. This will defeat the purpose of identifying potential infections,” he said.
He also warned against people intentionally uploading incorrect information, as they could be penalised for deception.

Most people get scolded or even penalised if the reason for going to work late is oversleeping.

On the contrary, most people will get consoled if the reason is getting injured in a car crash.

Between exhaustion and injury;
under different levels of seriousness;
how bad an incident deserves sympathy?
How serious an incident wakes people up and realise we are all unique individual living our own lives, rather than just a lifeless piece in the board called “society”?

Remember the similar photos I posted a while ago?

Hardness teaches us the meanings of being alive. Take life with a pinch of salt, and reserve some space for some smiles even in the most difficult situations. Kids trying to fight for their lives reminded me that. You know, sometimes we tend to put up a sad show because that is what the society expects of us. So what if the world collapsed on us, we deserve to fight back with a smile (if that is your honest feeling) even if we were pinned to the ground. Why a bounce back deserves to be penalised I don't understand. Or on the other hand, why an honest expression of disappointment or sadness has to invite tonnes of disapprovals. I know it's hard and I inevitably do that too, but let's try not to be too smart to judge, you don't know what others have been through. Let's practise.

That being said, am really thankful for the journeys that brought me into deeper layers of enlightenments. The Vietnam Cancer Village episode in #AMedicalJourney documentary series had won the bronze award under the social issues category in the 2020 New York Festivals TV and Film Award.
