It was the first time for one of us to visit Khao Yai, and although the National Park is closed, that was no reason not to explore and enjoy Bangkok's city escape of mountainous wonders. Best of all, we had our very own foodie to guide us. Not the kind of superficial foodie who judges meals by their Instagram pictures, but K. Jeen could just about chew your ear off about any foodies topic, plus he's a mean homecook. But before we dig into the food, please take a scroll and bask in the glory of this magnificent lighting. By no means a creation of our own but a torrential storm loomed which threw these badass shades. Jeen led us by a pimped-up, vintage landdrover to Kua Kampan. An open spaced, all- wooden restaurant which looked over a grassy field. Everything that came out was big and quite frankly, beautiful too. Simply unpretentious, Thai food using fresh produce. So don't expect dirt cheap prices, you get what you pay for and some more. Jeen ordered the chili raw prawns, BBQ chicken and lon dip. The prawns were excellent, with the freshest of herbs not over saturated in fish sauce. The chicken was also tip top, scrawny in places but exactly why it was so tasty, these chickens are raised in local homesteads giving them extra earthy potency. I haven’t been posting since I got to New Zealand, but if you follow my stories you’ll know I’ve been religiously updating you on my whereabouts! ☺️ Ben and I have been travelling the south for close to 2 weeks now, and we’ve been loving it so far. New Zealand’s natural beauty has always left me in awe, and it continues to astound. I’ve been saving for the right moment to show you this particular video I shot when we were on a cruise in Milford Sound. The place rains 260 out of 365 days a year, and if you come at the right time, the waterfalls are glorious. You also get to see its various inhabitants, and they’ll come out every once in awhile to say they are “doing very well”. In this case, we saw a few fur seals on our way out and it was the loveliest thing! Capturing the right moment doesn’t come easy, and I was bursting with joy and in shock when we got to chance upon them! The winds were incredibly strong out on the waters - what you didn’t see was me holding onto my iPhone for dear life! Dozens of others, including myself were trying to brave the intense cold, pelting rain and relentless winds! 😂❤️ Apparently fur seals love to love to come up on these vertical rocks. These rocks often provide a vantage point for protection against predators and to occasional sunbathe! I always assumed that they’re naturally sea sloths, but I couldn’t be more wrong. These fur seals go on feeding frenzies and can spend up to a week or so doing that. When they do come out of it, they spent a day or two on these rocks to rest and feed their young. They’re actually have a well deserved break! 😱😍 Cute aye?! Hahaha
