台灣央行在週四上修今年的經濟成長預測，縱使面臨本土武肺疫情，台灣仍能維持強力的出口暢旺和如預期的利率穩定，因而維持了倚賴出口的經濟。

台灣央行將原本在6月份預估的2021全年GDP為5.08%調升到5.75%。

台灣在2019年的GDP成長到2.71%，隨後的2020年則為3.11%。

台灣2021年第一季GDP為8.92%，第二季則是為了防止疫情擴散而部分封閉，導致GDP下滑至7.43%。

Taiwan’s central bank revised up the island’s growth outlook for the year on Thursday as strong exports bolstered a trade-reliant economy that has boomed even in the face of local COVID-19 cases, also keeping interest rates steady as expected.

The central bank raised its 2021 estimate for gross domestic product (GDP) growth to 5.75% from the 5.08% forecast in June.

Growth hit 3.11% in 2020, after expanding 2.71% in 2019.

GDP expanded by 7.43% in the second quarter of 2021, down from 8.92% in the first quarter, pulled lower by a partial lockdown to prevent domestic COVID-19 infections from spreading.

熟悉美股的讀者, 應該對BNPL不陌生了. PayPal這舉動, 其實也強化了跟Amazon的關係:

Provides potential for initial relationship with AMZN in Japan: We think the deal is most notable for giving PYPL its first entry into AMZN's large ecosystem, which PYPL has been trying to gain access to for some time. Paidy began providing BNPL services for AMZN in Japan in November 2019, and after the deal closes, PYPL should have a clear path to eventually sell some of its other core services to AMZN in Japan.

☘️lululemon(LULU)昨天(台灣周四凌晨)發表財報了, 股價跳漲10.47%.

Morgan Stanley:
We highlight margin expansion as particularly impressive against 1) higher eCommerce penetration, which has historically resulted in EBIT margin degradation for many other specialty retail peers, 2) the acquisition of MIRROR, which has not yet achieved profitability, & 3) already best-in-class historical operating margin levels. While some macro factors like lean industry-wide inventory levels may be partially supporting these results, in our view they point to a higher & more profitable growth trajectory for the business compared to the outlook pre-Covid. As such, though LULU’s P/E multiple sits at 46x, above the high end of its pre-Covid 18-41x range, we view current levels as merited against higher future growth & profitability. In our view, this may represent a more permanent valuation re-rating for LULU, & the stock likely continues to trade at elevated levels until results prove otherwise.

With Industry 4.0 now enabled by smart machines, the market value of smart manufacturing solutions is predicted to double from 2019 to 2027, and Taiwan has been playing a crucial role in this global supply chain. Stephen Su, vice president and general director at ITRI, has an optimistic outlook on this and indicates that because Taiwan is specialized for small yet flexible production lines, its smart machines can fill a niche for companies interested in greater customization.
