Save the wavesが嘉徳海岸の問題を取り上げてくれています。
世界自然遺産に登録された奄美大島ですが、実際には海や海岸線の保護はされて無いのが現状です。
未来の子供達へ、島の貴重な海岸を残す事が出来れば、奄美が世界自然遺産に登録される意味を後世に語り継ぐ事が出来ます。
嘉徳海岸は、自然だけでなく最高なビーチブレイクも存在します。
いつの時代にも、家族や仲間、大切な人達と大自然の中でウォータースポーツ、サーフィンなど、自然のフィルターを通して、
貴重な自然の大切さを感じる事は、原点回帰に繋がる事だと思います。
どの様な行動で、嘉徳海岸を保護して行くのが一番良い方法なのか分かりませんが、刻一刻と大切なスポットが消滅して行こうとしている事実があります。
日本にも世界に誇れるスポットが点在しており、そしてこの奄美大島にも、嘉徳海岸という誇るべき場所があります。
今こそ、大人が将来の子供達のために”何を残して行くのか”を現実的に考えるべき時代ではないでしょうか。
そして、僕の生まれて育ったこの奄美大島でも、今後についてしっかりと考える大切な時期に来たと思います。
コロナ渦で、行動を起こし辛い世の中ですが、大切な物は何かを子供達に語り継ぐ事の出来る行動を起こせたら・・・
この護岸工事に、関わる方々、行政の方々、もう一度、沢山の人達と一緒に検討するべきだと思います。
世界自然遺産地域の海岸に、これほど大きな護岸を作る事は、奄美の将来に関わる大きな工事であり、負の遺産になりかねません。
世界からみた嘉徳海岸はどれだけ貴重な海岸なのか、
先ずは”知る事”、”考え”、伝えて行く事”　そして”決断”
今一度、工事の必要性を検討するべきではないでしょうか？

‼️ CAMPAIGN ALERT! #SAVEKATOKU • One of the last unaltered and pristine beaches and waves in all of Japan is under threat from a destructive seawall project.

🌊 #KatokuBeach, also known as the Jurassic Beach for its timeless and ancient natural beauty, is the last natural surf ecosystem with public access on the island of Amami-Oshima without a seawall.

⚠️ The proposed project includes a 6.5 meter tall and 180 meter long seawall - placed directly over a natural dune habitat, interrupting the natural flow of the Katoku River and ultimately destroying the wave.

Minami Kizuki - Profile
1989: Born in Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture. A singer with roots tied to the Amami Islands’ folk song genre Shima Uta (Island Songs).
2009, Jan: She made her debut with the song Aitsumugi
2014~: She started appearing on the TV Tokyo program “The Karaoke Battle,” and was the first person to ever win ten titles on the show.
2018: She was responsible for songs in the Taiga drama (TV saga) series Segodon as well as the Taiga travelogue theme.
2019: In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of her debut, she released her first “best” album, Utatsumugi 2020: She was responsible for signing and translating the lyrics for the Disney live-action film Mulan theme song, Reflection
