The STP TAISAN ADVAN VIPER made its debut in Round 5 of the 1997 Japan GT Championship GT500 Class at Mine Circuit. The car was purchased from ORECA Racing, a well-known French race car constructor and racing team, who at the time was building the GTS-R (C8) by request from Chrysler. Team TAISAN’s owner, Ricky Chiba personally went to France to obtain this factory racing car.
From its debut until the end of the racing season in 2000, the race car garnered impressive results, often competing head-to-head with factory-backed works machines.
Although the car switched its class to GT300 from Round 6 of the 2000 racing season, the car was originally categorized in the GT2 Class under FIA regulations. The 8-L V10 OHV engine that was modified to shed some weight, was combined with a conventional H-type 6-speed manual transmission. Receiving cooperation from an engineering company in the UK, REYNARD Motorsport, the chassis was reinforced to make this car a highly competitive GT racer.
Various modifications were made while racing in the JGTC series in order to abide to JAF-GT specifications. Since the car had been used at various events after its racing career, it is now installed with street-spec engine and suspension. However, the car is still categorized as a racing car hence it cannot be driven on public roads.
The car ran its last racing season as the DUPLEX TAISAN AD VIPER with a blue colored body. However, it currently has the 1999 black and red ECLIPSE TAISAN VIPER livery.

#小編:保時捷賽車部門(Porsche Motorsport)將與北美汽車零件廠商Multimatic結盟,合力共同打造LMDh級別原型賽車。
LMDh是來自Le Mans Daytona Hybrid的縮寫,依LMDh級別賽事規範,參與此一全新高階賽事的原型賽車,必須使用Multimatic、Oreca、Dallara和Ligier四大認證製造商生產的底盤打造。與保時捷同屬福斯集團的奧迪也將與Multimatic合作開發新型賽車,可為整體賽車開發帶來正面的綜效成果。

自2023年起,Le Mans、Daytona和Sebring等經典耐力賽事將納入全新LMDh級別,為其高階級別賽事之一,代表了賽車競賽也重視成本效益最大化。各廠隊可在經大會認證的底盤打造具各自特色的車體;儘管規定非常嚴格,製造商在動力系統上仍有相當的空間可以發揮,例如現行規範便未對內燃機設計和碳排量給予限制。依據標準混和動力系統,引擎輸出功率將落在500 Kw(約680 PS),車輛基本重量規定為1,030公斤。
