Every year, December 17th is an incredibly special day for our family, MUJI SAMA. Muji, our only beloved dog, is turning 5 today. He’s not a little puppy anymore. Our memories of him being a young, playful puppy have begun to fade away now as his personality has matured into adulthood, which also means we must pay attention to his health. As long as he’s still alive, we will continue to take great care and strive to optimise his health as much as we can.

It has been a year since Muji got his teeth cleaned. We noticed that plaque and tartar on his teeth starting to irritate his gums, so we took this day as an opportunity to get a check up on his teeth and general health. We then thought that bringing Mumaru - our cat, to the hospital to be neutered was also a logical thing to do. Only little we know, our special day, December 17th, for the past 5 years has turned into the saddest day for our family. Mumaru has just passed away today. He has left us forever. There is a hope in a mist of our sorrow that we will overcome the grief like we have done in the past with other family members. We didn’t expect him to leave us so soon. It is so unexpected as there was no sign that his health had deteriorated.

To those who followed us for some time, we hope you notice that when it comes to their wellbeing, we always choose the best options for our fur babies. Neutering male cats reduces the incidence of prostate cancer and also for Mumaru, it would deter him from mating with his own sibling, Mumi. Sadly, Mumaru had a server allergic reaction to the anaesthesia during the operation, which caused a sudden death. Being a short-nosed and flat-faced cat breed with an exotic short hair, increases the chance of respiratory complications associated with anaesthesia. The vet and his team tried their best to save his life, and they did the best they could.

There is nothing we can say to express how sad we are that he is gone. We just want to thank him for being such a great cat that always brought joy to anyone that encountered him. His agreeableness and high sense of being affectionate converted those who are scared of cats to become a cat lover. Mumaru liked to be picked up or held, even with any strangers, and this had never ever terrified him. You always had one facial expression in the countless photos that we took of you Mumaru. You never destroyed the belongings. There are many endless definitions of you, our dearest Mumaru.

There is an interesting fact that funny and cute cat’s videos can actually ease anxiety and depression. It was mentioned to us that Mumaru’s video clips have helped some people get through their days when they were down. This might not be the greatest invention in the world but small bits count. We wish that our tiny drop of positivity can reinforce that in this world, life is worth living. The same goes to those pet owners who understand the emotionally attached bonds we have to our pets.

Since our last vet bill appeal at the beginning of April we have taken in 65 dogs. Each and every one of these dogs has had to have a full medical check up including, spaying/neutering, extensive blood tests, vaccinations, chipping and many have needed other surgeries and medication for heartworm or other problems.

We insure each and every dog in our care gets the best medical care we can offer. All our dogs are up to date on their vaccinations, all are chipped and all are spayed and neutered.

Please help us!!! We need 465 of our fans to donate just NT$1000 then we can cover our vet bills for June and July, and then look for ways to fund raise to raise funds for other incoming bills in the future.

The story behind two people whom I truly respect, who saves and care hundreds of stray dogs in the streets through feeding, spaying and loving.

Every morning, Mr Low never fails to prepare packs of dog food and help to feed the stray dogs at 7 sites in Klang daily. In the evening, he will pack the dog food in bags for some dogs that are afraid of people. He will toss to them and the dogs will pick up the bag and go somewhere safe to eat. You may see from the photos how the dogs would wait for food and how happy they are with Mr Low.

Mr Low prepares the daily dog food by going to bread factory to buy bread in big bulk for the dogs beside dog kibbles and his family left over food that should never be left wasted, instead share with the strays that needed the most.

There are many stray dogs, including the pregnant ones. These voiceless animals were captured and released because they were not good enough to be sold and some are thrown in abandon area or industrial area. Some are captured and kill. Some are tortured until they die. Mr Low help what he can to help these surviving great dogs that don't deserve to die and abused.

These acts of selflessness, care and helping the voiceless has been going through for more than 5 years. Mr Low and his daughter, Winnie, have helped countless of stray dogs. They feed, spayed and cared for these loyal and beautiful God's creation.

I was always impressed with their act of kindness and willingness to help the strays so the strays will find adopters and they do what they can to help the strays to live better in the streets, the least.

They use their own means to help the strays. Food can cost roughly minimum RM 600 monthly. Spaying/neutering can cost RM 200-300 per dog depends on the dog's weight. Once in a while, friends or those who are willing to share will donate for food & spaying cost.

If you would like to support the stray dogs in Klang area by helping Mr Low and Winnie to help the strays, any donations are welcome, so they can help to feed, spay/neuter more stray dogs.
