For the 68th edition, we bring you a mix from daytime neuroscientist, nighttime raver, Clarity. Originally from Canada, Clarity has recently been blessed with the indulgence of London’s hard techno scene prior to the 2020 Lockdowns. It is during this exposure, Clarity was drawn to trippy, spacey yet powerful sounds that were fast and expressive. It is from this exposure, that she has captured and created the energy of her sets, which can be seen and both felt in her own musical outputs. Clarity, if left with one wish, asks for everyone to be well-being and of good health and is excited to dance with you all on the dancefloors of the world as soon as it is possible to do so! 🧬 What most consider “genetics”: 1) Natural Speed & Strength 2) Physical Proportions 3) Metabolism (ie, hormone balance) - 🤚🏽 Five more categories I think are missing from the discussion: 1) Coordination 2) Focus/Determination 3) Reflexes/Reactions 4) Body Consciousness 5) Injury Resilience - Being aware of the various levels of ability in anything people are born with makes coaching them much easier 👌🏽 Even as three males in the same family, we represent a wide spectrum. - My brother and father both have slightly higher coordination and much better reaction time than I do, making them much more talented athletes at sports that require execution of skill under variable surroundings. They’re born rugby players and I couldn’t be much less so 😂 - I’ve got slightly higher body consciousness and determination so am better at learning how to do things that don’t come naturally or are boring. (Read: Bodybuilding, Yoga) 🧘‍♂️ Their list of things that don’t come naturally is irritatingly short though. - My brother and I both sadly didn’t inherit our father’s bulletproof tolerance for resisting injury, or his natural strength, but I got some decent hip mechanics for squats and martial arts 🥊 (very different from competitive fighting) and my brother has ended up taller than us with broad pec attachments. - Swings and roundabouts 🎠 Know your strengths and weaknesses and you’ll be more logical in your exercise choice and realistic about your expectations. - I won’t stray out of my lane and pretend to be a neuroscientist, but if the above interests you 🤓 there are some interesting ways you can correlate neurotransmitter balances in people to a lot of it. It you’re a coach, it will help you make better decisions when recommending what training modalities your client should pursue, and understand how to tailor your programming to them. - ... did I miss anything?
