#HappyFathersDay to all the fathers out there. May you have a lazy Sunday off, spending time with your loved ones, without being dragged into too many complicated or overly-elaborate events. Because as some of you may have surmised, most of us fathers dislike fuss and attention. But don’t misread our serious demeanor or awkward smiles, we do appreciate your efforts deeply. (That’s Faith, my autistic oldest daughter, hanging with her old man, in case you’re wondering.)

This huge poster is now hanging on the corridor where students of @ktjschool will walk past every day as part of their efforts to promote inclusivity at school. Children can be the most judgemental and cruel of all to their peers. Of course, they weren’t born that way... they were conditioned by their environment and indoctrinated to be that way. Thank you to the members of KTJ staff and Board for featuring my poem. Now, every time some delinquent pair of students decide to choose this corridor for some PDA at night, they’ll have my face to scare the bejeezus out of them. 😂😂😂 ————————————————— BLOOD RUNS RED|| You’re special, she said You can sit next to us, they said I have a friend, i said Pointing to the girl in red. She’s not special, she said She can’t sit with us, they said Whyever not?, i said Confused at what they saw, that i had misread. She’s darker, she said She’s different to us, they said Her eyes, can’t you see They slant a different way instead? Her father’s race is different to us, they said Her mother, she works as a maid They don’t look or earn the same, they said I listened to understand, to the arguments they made But if i were to cut her, i said Wouldn ‘t her blood run just as red?
