    Which type of mermaid (or merman!) are YOU?

    Sunlight mermaids
    (Epipelagic Seirēn)~ mermaids who live near the surface of the water; are almost extinct because of hunters and boat propellers; are the original mermaids of lore who would sing to sailors on ships to let them know of storms, rocks, and other dangers; are not deadly; personalities are shy, friendly, and musical; are beautiful beyond words and have gold colored tails that reflect sunlight into rainbows; love music and anything beautiful.

    Twilight mermaids
    (Mesopelagic Seirēn)~ mermaids who dwell in the midwater zone; are sweet in nature, but deadly if angered; have sensitive eyesight due to the little lights that they get; are bizarre looking beings, with poisoned spines on their backs and arms that are used to kill sharks who attack; are distinct because of their silver eyes; enjoy combing their hair and chasing each other.

    Midnight mermaids
    (Bathypelagic Seirēn)~ mermaids who occupy the dark zone; have scales that are of bioluminescent (glow in the dark) so they can see; have black or red eyes and hair; can withstand cold water temperatures; enjoy hunting.

    Abyss mermaids
    (Abyssopelagic Seirēn)~ mermaids who habitats the ocean near the bottom; they have skin where their eyes should be, seeing as how they don’t get sunlight; have green seaweed-y like hair and pale skin; can withstand freezing temperatures.

    Trench Mermaids
    (Hadalpelagi Seirēn)~ mermaids who dwell on the very bottom of the ocean; are rarely seen by humans because they live so deep underwater; love to sing, make jewelry, and explore; personalities can very; can be mischievous but not dangerous; have brightly colored tails that sparkle and glow in the dark to let other pods of mermaids know where they are; use echolocation to move around; have very sensitive eyesight due to never seeing light.
