For those who are the great fans of 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA (the 1st & only three Michelin stars Italian restaurant outside Italy⭐️⭐️⭐️), it’s a must for you to visit its younger sister - Octavium 🇮🇹🍽 . Octavium was opened in 2017 by renowned Chef Umberto Bombana and quickly earned 1 Michelin star🌟 within 1.5 years after the restaurant opening. Undoubtedly, it is an absolute gem💎 which serves top-notch Italian cuisine with the finest ingredients (also easier to make a reservation than its famed sibling these days😂). As a cozy home-style dining room, its setting is relatively minimal with few eye-catching artworks on wall and around 10 tables that are placed closely with each other in the main dining area❤️ . As Chef Roland Schuller and Chef Bjoern Alexander (previous Chef de Cuisine of Petrus) recently joined Octavium, I revisited it in late January for a birthday lunch celebration with my besties👯‍♀️. Service was professional and attentive without being intrusive😉 Convenient and first-rate location in the heart of Central with a reasonably priced menu as well✔️ Food was exceptional and the stars of the day were the freshly baked bread and pasta dishes🥖🍝 Linguine red prawn🦐, Mezze Maniche with iberico pork ragout🐷 & egg yolk ravioli with black truffle and ricotta🖤🧡 were flawlessly presented with full of warmth and al dente chew 💯 The giant Spanish red prawn was also cooked to perfection🤤 and its tomato & garlic sauce definitely added colors to the whole pasta dish🍅🧄. Appetizers were all good👅 Personally love its abalone with scallops, fennel & orange most🍊 Sea bass with dried scallops and mantis shrimps & green beans was quite a creative dish but sadly the fish was slightly overcooked..👉🏻👈🏻 However, I was pleasantly surprised by the desserts😻 Highly recommend its chocolate soufflé🍫 Usually I’m not a chocolate person but this airy and soft soufflé really stood out to me✨ If you love hazelnut, the torta della nonna would be a good pick💕 All in all, it was a truly amazing and enjoyable gastronomic experience🙌🏻 . .
