An Excellent Spirit Brings Lasting Promotions

“It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.” (Daniel‬ ‭6:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

Many unbelievers in the world think that to get ahead in life, they have to lie, cheat and steal. They use underhand methods to get promotions, stepping on others to climb up higher.

However, in the powerful Medo-Persian kingdom, Daniel distinguished himself in the eyes of the king by displaying an excellent spirit.

Out of one hundred and twenty princes and three presidents, Daniel was preferred above them all—not by currying favor, but just by being an excellent in all he did.

He was faithful in all his duties, and did his work excellently.

Truly capable people don’t have to resort to dirty methods to get promoted.

If you use corrupt ways to prosper, your adversaries will be able to dig up dirt to testify against you.

But when you do everything honestly and do your work well, wanting to give your best, who can fault you? Having a clear conscience is sweet and peaceful.

“A good man shall obtain favor from Yahweh, but he will condemn a man of wicked devices. A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.” (Proverbs‬ ‭12:2-3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When you see others getting promoted through dirty ways, don’t let the temptation of the shortcut cause you to stray from having your heart in the right place.

When an excellent spirit is in you, you will obtain favor from the Lord for promotion. Do your work well as worship unto Him, not to please your boss.

“And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” (Colossians‬ ‭3:23-24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Because you are a “good man” in Christ, based on His finished work at the cross, God’s favor is yours.

Remember: favor, not labor!

Promotion through wicked ways is not a sure foundation. There are many cracks and one day it will all collapse, and the fall will be great.

Let your promotion come from relying on the grace (unmerited favor) of God. If it comes as a gift, you won’t have the stress of having to maintain it by your limited strength. God will supply the grace for you to thrive in the new role.

Pray with me: Dear Abba God, help me cultivate an excellent spirit like Daniel. I want to be promoted, but at Your timing and in Your chosen way. I want to rely on Your unmerited favor, not my stressful labor. Thank You for the abundance of grace that empowers me to work faithfully as worship unto You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!

The Only Situation Whereby God Sends Disasters in the World Today

“Yahweh said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh...While he was still speaking, there also came another, and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”” (Job‬ ‭1:12, 16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

We know from reading the Book of Job that it was Satan who afflicted Job with sores and destroyed his children, flocks, herds, servants and property.

Yet, when the servant ran to tell Job about the bad news, he said it was “the fire of God”.

People of the world who have no knowledge of the Scriptures are so quick to blame God for natural disasters in the world.

In insurance policies, they even call it “acts of God”, referring to unexpected disasters like tornadoes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, etc.

However, most of it is not even God causing these disasters.

Don’t forget that we live on a earth that’s fallen.

“For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.” (Romans‬ ‭8:22‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When God created the earth, He didn’t design it to produce these calamities. Adam’s sin caused the earth to be subject to death and corruption.
Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions—these are the groans and travailing of the earth that is in “pain”.

Aside from that, although Satan has lost his rulership over the earth because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross, he is still called “the prince of the power of the air”.

“in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience;” (Ephesians‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

He has a certain level of power and influence over nature. At least we know that he can manipulate the air, causing things like hurricanes, whirlwinds and tornadoes.

The devil probably laughs when people blame God for natural disasters which he (Satan) has caused.

When these tragedies strike, some legalistic people say it’s God judging this country or judging that group of people for their sins. This isn’t true.

In this dispensation of the church age, God’s priority is to save as many people as possible—for them to have faith in Christ Jesus as Lord.

But is there any case nowadays whereby God may judge people using natural disasters as one of the methods?

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you.”” (Genesis‬ ‭12:3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

It is possible, if it is linked to the nation of Israel. God made a covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying that He would curse whoever who curses Israel.

Israel is the only nation that God made such a covenant with. The other nations of the world have no such privilege.

Whenever a nation comes against Israel to harm or destroy her, God sends a manifestation of the curse—a devastating blow upon the perpetrator for the covenant’s sake.

Look at all the great world powers that came against Israel or persecuted the Jews in history: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, etc.
The power of these kingdoms have been irreversibly broken.

Research Hitler’s end when he committed genocide against the Jews.

2️⃣RAIVA: “Não acredito, chegou aqui no Brasil, vou ter que ficar trancado em casa, não posso trabalhar”
3️⃣BARGANHA: “Ok, se eu fizer a quarentena, tudo vai passar e vamos poder voltar ao normal”
4️⃣DEPRESSÃO: “Estou fazendo a quarentena e não está melhorando, quarentena foi prorrogada de novo? Que tédio, não tenho mais o que fazer, isso não vai terminar nunca?”
5️⃣ACEITAÇÃO: “Ok, isso está realmente acontecendo, vou aceitar e fazer algo”
6️⃣SIGNIFICADO: Dar um significado ao luto, se reinventar, fazer algo novo, se reconectar com pessoas, resgatar amizades, se dedicar a trabalhos sociais...
🤍O segredo está na aceitação e em achar um significado para o luto, para isso, foque no agora, não adianta sofrer pelo futuro incerto e nem pelo que está fora do seu alcance (comportamento dos outros ou do governo por exemplo), tenha compaixão e entenda que a sua dor não anula a dor do outro e por fim, que TUDO ISSO É TEMPORÁRIO E VAI PASSAR!
