【矽谷總教頭的一對一教練精神？防疫在家，免費送你「矽谷領導力」超有料好書】

尼可老公又來上節目！吃飯前跟隊友錄完最新一集的podcast，聊「矽谷傳奇教練」Bill Campbell對矽谷的影響。Bill Campbell是誰？他在矽谷是一號神奇人物，39歲前他是美式橄欖球教練，蘋果的Steve Jobs、谷歌的Larry Page、亞馬遜的貝佐斯 ，在公司草創時期，全都接受過他的教導和訓練。Steve Jobs在1997 年重返蘋果，就是他陪伴Jobs，將蘋果從瀕臨倒閉重整旗鼓再創輝煌。

這件事在矽谷以外鮮為人知，主要原因在於Campbell為人相當低調，我會注意到這個人，一方面最近在看商業周刊的新書《矽谷最夯‧產品專案領導力全書》，這本書是矽谷「實踐派」產品專案大師馬提．凱根（Marth Cagan ）向Bill Campbell致敬的一本書，裡面提到他的許多金句，和著重「一對一教練Coaching」，以如何找人、輔導人才，組建好的團隊，為首要任務，而非急著處理問題、專案管理，這樣的思維貫穿「矽谷最夯」一書，並提供明確而充滿人文溫度的策略和執行方案。

二則，我在理財軟體公司Intuit任職主管的朋友S曾提起Bill Campbell，Campbell除了是很多矽谷大佬的coach，也創立了Intuit這家公司，他強調以「人」為本的領導風格，至今仍影響Intuit和矽谷許多科技公司。

S談到公司時眼睛會發亮，這在工作多年的人身上非常少見，Campbell當年提倡領導階層的25% KPI績效指標必須著重在「一對一教練Coaching」，也就是幫助員工自我成長，讓屬下的生活變得更好，因此Intuit和Adobe等公司非常鼓勵員工積極表達對職涯人生的規劃，領導階層的人會思考如何幫助到下面的人，甚至協助他們爭取內轉、部門輪調的機會，這在許多公司並不多見，通常是視各部門和主管的領導風格而異，而不會直接放在KPI評測標準上。

這本書不薄，但是知識和資訊密集度很高，是少數目前可以讓我從頭看到尾，不想錯過任何一個字的書。最精彩的單元我覺得在第二章談一對一教練的章節，書中也不時穿插矽谷知名企業高階主管的人物側寫，也極為精彩特別！這集我跟尼可老公、矽谷Apple專案技術部門的主管Paul，深入對談如何透過一對一教練，幫助團隊的每一個人勝任職務、發揮潛能，也會聊到新手主管可以參考的思考點。

My Road To Elite series is a series of videos chronicling my rise and fall through the ranks of the online Smash Ultimate gaming-world. I am not a pro, nor am I overly passionate about the game. If you had to label me, I guess the general term is a "casual," although I do not like that term. It kind of has a pejorative tint to it. I used to consider the Smash-series to be my favorite series of videogames until Smash 4 came out and massively disappointed me. I think, however, that this game -- Smash 5, is massively better than Smash 4, and so I am enjoying playing this game.

My goal for this series isn't to get to Elite by any means necessary, or as quickly as possible. My goal is to have fun, learn the game, and share my joy and despair to the world. I hope it is somewhat entertaining. If I never reach Elite, that will be fine with me. It is about enjoying the journey, every step of the way
