Dharma Drum Mountain’s annual theme for 2019 is “A Good Wish for the World”. DDM abbot president Ven. Guo Huei reminds people that making vows is a very important Buddhist method of practice, and is also a significant essence for the bodhisattva path. Putting priority in benefitting others and setting aside our personal self represents the bodhisattva vow. The more we help others, the more we can let go of our self, and thereby attain genuine happiness. For this year, let us all make good wishes, cherish life, and commit ourselves to doing good deeds for the benefit of self and others, thereby jointing transforming the fortunes of our society as a whole.
