When i woke up at 2am that morning,little did i know that i was gonna be passing through the National highway 223 also known as the great Andaman.grand trunk road which connects port Blair and diglipur All i knew was we were going to see some limestone caves and that we were passing through the thick forests of jakartang, home to only around 200 last Jarawa tribes survivors. Having rained the whole day that night we hoped that the rain wouldn't play spoilsport to our day. We got ready by 3am and into the cab from eco palm resort. My excitement knew no bound as it was our second day at andamans and we were setting out to explore the place first time..me and my best friend( yes the good jumper) Until we reached this point where vehicles were waiting in line for the gates to open..we had our breakfast at a nearby dhaba that served delicious puri sabzi and tea.When the darkness slowly faded, we got down here to take a few pictures at the nearby temple.This is the great grand trunk road(GTR) People were waiting in vehicles for the road to finally open at 5 am.There was an announcement that was made which gave us instructions on the dos&Donts while passing through the forests out of which photography was a strict no no and feeding the Jarawa tribes was not allowed, to name a few.i was absolutely thrilled to see around10Jarawa tribes out of which two of them.managed to scare me..one of the boys shouted at me when i was just looking out through the cab window pane. Afew times we slept off and the driver would wake us up saying "madam Jarawa Jarawa" The forests i passed through that fine day was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful i'd ever seen in my life But the echo of those words "Jarawa Jarawa" when everyone in a tourist bus would look at the direction they were standing-some of them naked,others wearing leaves or a piece of cloth to cover their genitals&the passengers trying to capture these images All these made me feel ashamed of what we humans were doing to these people..its like they were being showcased and the travel industry was flourishing with them as a source. of income. I then realised that maybe the GTR was indeed the greatest sin by the Indian govt.

As i lay on this hammock with just the open night sky, huge branches of trees and stars above with the trees beside me at anugama resort near wandoor beach,port Blair,accessing network after three days,Im still filled with memories fresh from my three days and two nights stay at Havelock island. Im still submerged in the thoughts of the place, the beauty of it and how pleasant how soothing our stay there was..how slowly life was running there.We lost track of time there.Away from network connectivity apart from.bsnl it waa truly a blessing and people are actually quute happy there being cut off from the rest of the world.. I just cannot explain in words how beautiful the stay was there..from cycling trekking to underwater activities we did all sorts of things..and yes i did scuba diving for the first time in my life and oh boy it was sucha wonderful experience Posting old.pictures from three days ago on our way to limestone caves..the way to it was even more beautiful..the dense rich forests we passed through, the jarawa tribe region in which photography was strictly not allowed( which was so beautiful)..i got to catch a glimpse of the jarawa tribes too..about 10,of them, one nearly scared.me by shouting at us when we passed them by the cab.
