Happy world afro day 🌸 My full, round afro was the most difficult style for me to wear in Japan because it garnered the most reactions. I’ve had people mock the shape of my hair with their hands when they thought I wasn’t looking, and jump away from me when I walked up next to them. But I’ve also had a young Japanese woman approach me at a restaurant and ask to take a picture with me because she thought I looked beautiful. Took a while to finish this the other day but more importantly this brilliant book was one of the main contributors to understanding how to better manage Yusuf during the lockdown(s). Whilst managing him at home in between work you tend to have moments when you’re just so exhausted and would quickly feel frustrated or angry. #ThoseTimesHeWantsToAppearOnZoom This book though offers a research based and common sense approach about a child’s brain development and what kind of discipline is most appropriate. To discipline is to teach and no-drama discipline allows for much calmer and loving interactions - definitely a way to increase cooperation in the household and it totally opened up my mind on how to better manage a situation.
