Tomorrow is Juneteenth, a meaningful celebration for Black Americans, especially those who are descendants of slaves and/or those who still suffer from the aftermath of slavery. My Black friends are rightly proud of what their people have accomplished in spite of the fact that their people weren't allowed to keep their original cultures. We who aren't Black should celebrate with them and be the best allies we can be. Our country still has a long way to go. Just because we had ONE Black president, it doesn't mean we've made huge amount of progress. (Mostly Black) voting rights are still being suppressed in many areas. Redlining is still a thing. The inequalities are too numerous to name.
