God’s Unquenchable Love

“Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.” (Song of Solomon‬ ‭8:7‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Your sins were like many waters, but it cannot quench God’s love for you.

When the children of Israel were about to cross from the wilderness to the land of Canaan, they stood before the river Jordan. The ark of the covenant entered the river first, and the waters parted, gathering up as a heap far away over the city of Adam. This is a picture of Jesus removing our sins, even all the way back to Adam’s original sin, by taking God’s judgment for sin in His own body at the cross.

Jesus stripped Himself of His divine glory, became a man, was humiliated like a criminal, suffered excruciatingly and died a bloody death.

Jesus gave all the wealth of His house for love. He did that because He loves you.

It does not make any sense. You might call such a love ‘foolish’. That is just how much God loves you.

“A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one—God. You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’” He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.” When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.” But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.” (Luke‬ ‭18:18-23‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When Jesus tested the rich young ruler by asking him to sell all his possessions and give the proceeds to the poor, the man could not do it.

Jesus is the true rich forever-young ruler from Heaven who has all the best treasures. At the cross, He sold everything and gave it all to you.

He was made poor so that we might become rich. He was treated like the worst sinner so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him!

Receive Jesus’ unquenchable love for you. See the great price He paid to redeem you. Know that you are very precious to God!

Jesus Understands your Suffering

“For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.” (Hebrews‬ ‭4:15-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When going through hard times, some people like to say, “I understand what you are going through.” However, most of the time, they do not really know. They are just saying it to be nice and polite.

On the other hand, Jesus know what you are going through.

His head was pierced with a crown of thorns. He was stripped, humiliated, spat on, had His beard pulled, beaten with stripes, crucified, laden with the sins and sicknesses of the world, and burnt with the fiery wrath of God.

No other man will go through worse suffering than Jesus.

The God-Man Jesus knows what you are going through. He became a “man of sorrows” on the day of His crucifixion.

Jesus knows firsthand how difficult life can be on earth. That is one reason why you can confidently ask God for mercy and Grace in every situation.

Draw near to God’s throne—He will never rebuke you or cast you aside.

In your time of need, He will gladly provide the supply.

God is free to be good to you because Jesus paid for you to be made righteous through His shed blood!

Receive the Mighty Works of God in your Body

“As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him. I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud, and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing.” (John‬ ‭9:1-7‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

This whole world is fallen due to Adam’s sin. Why are people born blind or with other conditions? Jesus’ reply to His disciples tells us that it is not God punishing men for their sins.

Think of our DNA that links back all the way to Adam as a printer. No matter how perfectly drawn a piece of digital art is, if it comes out from a faulty printer, the result will be a blotchy art piece with imperfections.

Is this the fault of the artist? No, it is because the printer is faulty. Ever since Adam sinned, he has passed on seed (DNA) that is also corrupted by sin. Every baby inherits sin in their flesh. The sin-tainted DNA is like the faulty printer, messing up God’s perfect design.

The man who was born blind must have suffered greatly over the years. Perhaps he was bitter and angry with God, blaming Him for the health condition.

The blind man would never imagine that God loved him so much that He sent His Son to heal him in person.

After being healed, the blind man got saved. His story and declarations of faith are forever recorded as Scripture, and has inspired innumerable believers throughout time. Was it worth it to be born blind and have a personal encounter with Jesus like that, immortalized in Scripture? I feel that it is priceless.

God is not so petty that if we misunderstand Him, He will not be good to us. Look at Jesus—He was willing to be humiliated and blasphemed at the cross, so that we would be saved. When we look at Jesus, we will know Abba God’s heart. Jesus did nothing without first receiving instructions from the Father. As Jesus obeyed what He saw (in vision form), the Holy Spirit supplied the power for miracles. They worked perfectly in sync as one God.

If you were born with a condition that you hate, know that God did not design you this way. Sin that is passed down through the DNA is what distorts God’s beautiful design.

God wants you to receive His healing. We know that the price for your healing and restoration have been paid at the cross. Jesus’s blood was shed so that you can be made whole.

Jesus said that while He was in the world, He was the light of the world.

Since He has returned to Heaven, is there no more “light of the world”?

“You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew‬ ‭5:14-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus has passed on the baton to us. Now, you and I who have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, are the light of the world.

The Lord said that the man was allowed to be born blind so that the works of God might be revealed in him. Healing is a good work that glorifies God in Heaven.

As the light of the world, go forth in the same authority that Jesus had when He went about doing good, healing all who were oppressed by the devil. He did not heal anyone by His own divinity. He relied on the power of the Holy Spirit, so that we would have a pattern to follow.

When you pray for healing, expect God’s power for healing to be supplied. You can receive miracles in Jesus’ name.

When Jesus returns for us, our mortal bodies will be transformed into glorified bodies. Then, the ‘faulty printer’ will be gone. We will be revealed as beautiful masterpieces of art, just as our good God originally intended!
