【ENG.below】ワンヘルスってなに？なぜ大切なの？  今私たちが経験している新型コロナウィルスは動物から人に感染する「動物由来感染症（人獣共通感染症）」の一つです。  サルモネラ、狂犬病、SARSやエボラ出血熱なども同じく動物由来の感染症で、過去50年間急激に増加しています。  その原因は主に以下の5つがあります。  -森林破壊と土地変革 -集約的な農業や工場式畜産 -野生動物の違法取引 -抗微生物薬耐性 -気候変動  私たちの生活が狂わされてしまった伝染病の根源は、私たち人間活動が作り出してしまっているんです。  どうしたらこのような感染症や被害を繰り返さずに済むか？😟  私たちの健康を守るということは、環境を守るということ、家畜動物を含めた全ての生物の健康を守るということと繋がっている問題だと認識し、システムチェンジをしていかなくてはいけません。  「予防」のコストは被害額の2%だとされ、経済的にみても必然的だと考えられています。  まずはこの考え方を理解して、サポートしていくことから始めてみませんか？  私の前回のポッドキャストでもワンヘルスについて触れているのでまだお聞きになっていない方は是非参考にしてみてください🙏  参考／引用: WWF, WHO  What is "One Health"? Why is it important?  The pandemic that we experienced like COVID-19 is called zoonosis, which also includes Salmonellosis, Rabies, SARS, Ebola, and more.  What are the causes? Below are the main factors of zoonoses. - Deforestation and other land-use changes - Intensified agriculture and livestock production - Antimicrobial resistance - Illegal and poorly regulated wildlife trade - Climate change  The virus that affected our lives so severely ultimately came from human-related activities.  So how can we stop another pandemic?  We have to recognize that our health is intricately connected with the environment and animals, which include both livestock and wildlife health. Together, they create our ecosystem and dependency on each other's welfare. As we consider the causes, we also need to take action and change the existing, human-centered ways of the system.  Preventing future pandemics by taking action takes only 2% of the money that would cost for recovery. The Anthropocene Reviewed Podcast I’m a huge fan of @johngreenwritesbooks books and also of this podcast where he reviews “facets of the human-centered planet on a five-star scale.” His reviews are sometimes funny & always thoughtful. Some of my favorite episodes are Velociraptors (episode 13), Auld Lang Syne (episode 23) and Sunsets (episode 21), but they’re all good. @anthropocenereviewed High Fidelity on Hulu Zoe Kravitz is so ridiculously funny and vulnerable in this, I kind of need her to be in all the shows. The entire rest of the cast is hilarious and the writing is sharp and honest and kind. If you’ve ever had your heart broken, this show is for you. @highfidelityonhulu
