    熱愛芭蕾舞的薇琪，受到舞團老闆雷蒙托夫的賞識，為她量身打造全新舞劇「紅菱豔」，製作精良的舞劇輔以薇琪精湛的舞藝，讓她一炮而紅。「紅菱豔」的音樂出自才華洋溢的作曲家克拉斯特之手，薇琪與克拉斯特陷入熱戀，卻讓雷蒙托夫感到嫉妒，雷蒙托夫逼迫薇琪離開克拉斯特，不要辜負她的舞蹈天份。愛情與舞蹈（名聲），薇琪該如何抉擇？

    終於在 MOD 補上 Michael Powell 和 Emeric Pressburger 導演的《#紅菱豔》。或許因為電影年代久遠，一直以為《紅菱豔》會是一部《#彗星美人》式的陰險算計心機之作，沒想到電影前半場如此純粹，一群創作者相聚一堂，攜手打造傑出的舞劇，無論是攝影或音樂或美術都相當地用心與賞心悅目。電影後半段劇情急轉直下，薇琪陷入兩難：選擇愛情就要放棄舞蹈，選擇舞蹈就得放棄愛情。

    世事無法兩全其美。或者，兩個男性的戰爭，女性只能被勒索，只能擇一？克拉斯特的愛情原來有條件，選擇舞蹈就代表妳不愛我（克拉斯特沒想過放棄自己對音樂的熱愛，卻自私地要求薇琪配合他的人生）；雷蒙托夫的賞識原來也不單純，選擇愛情就代表妳不夠熱愛舞蹈（雷蒙托夫霸道地想把純粹的美留在身邊，拒絕接受這樣的美可以在不同的領域同時發光發熱）。#情勒的人都以為自己是受害者，#被勒索的人都覺得自己對不起他人。最終，添加入嫉妒與佔有慾的愛情與舞蹈，不再光彩奪目，反而成了傷人的武器。《紅菱豔》的結局，空著的舞台，是控訴，更是無限的悔恨（簡單的意象卻戲劇效果強大）。

    《紅菱豔》的美術、編舞、音樂、攝影，都很精緻突出。本片的演員群戲，偶爾流於舞台劇式的誇張演出，但整體仍是迷人，Moira Shearer 的舞蹈身段美極了、Anton Walbrook 的驕傲其實有點帥氣、Marius Goring 的深情則會讓人喘不過氣！
