One of the perks of having your own business as a designer is that you get to design your own products 😜⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Finally used up all the folders (200 of them!) for calligraphy classes. I didn't know anything about Illustrator or aesthetics last year, so this time I’ve tried to incorporate my new aesthetics, upped the design a little bit and made a second version of the calligraphy folder. Comes with a touch of French decor and of course, gold foil 😙⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Look forward to the 1-day Copperplate class on Sunday! A closer look at the French floral ornament pattern (in watercolour) I created for the envelope liner.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've always been obsessed with floral patterns - especially William Morris, William Kilburn, and Laura Ashley designs 😍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I was never good at arts, let alone painting. And for the longest time, I put off the idea of creating a floral pattern myself. I keep telling myself:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let me try it when I get better.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That day never arrived 😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not until I HAD to create the pattern for the project.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I self-taught creating monochrome watercolour paintings and how to make patterns from them.
