➥間質幹細胞(MSC)具有廣泛的免疫調節特性，已應用於再生醫學及免疫或發炎性疾病，包括異體移植。


COVID-19在短時間內造成高死亡率的大流行主因是肺損傷及呼吸窘迫症候群；由於目前沒有有效的預防或治療方法，儘管缺乏臨床數據，間質幹細胞療法(MSCT)已成為一種可能的候選療法。


最早MSCT在肺部免疫或發炎性疾病的實驗室數據可追溯至2003年，2004年首次應用MSCT於「移植物對抗宿主疾病」的治療；自此之後，已有大量實驗室數據顯示MSC對免疫調節的用處，目前有超過1/3的MSCT臨床試驗是針對免疫或發炎性疾病。


MSCT的實驗室數據在非傳染性疾病，如慢性阻塞性肺病、氣喘、及肺纖維化，及細菌傳染之免疫及發炎性疾病，通常顯示具治療效果，但在病毒感染之肺部疾病，其實驗室數據少且不一致。本文作者描述MSC在肺部免疫或發炎性疾病的臨床應用理論，並整理了正在進行中的MSCT臨床試驗(包括COVID-19)，提出MSCT在COVID-19上可能的應用。( 財團法人國家衛生研究院 莊淑鈞博士摘要整理，完整文章，詳：http://forum.nhri.org.tw/covid19/virus/j_translate/j1844/)
