Dear Bruce Lee fans,

We are regretted to inform you that according to reliable sources, the former residence of the late Bruce Lee located at 41 Cumberland Road, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong will be demolished.

As we are all aware, “Bruce Lee” is another name for Hong Kong. Although it has been half of a century after Bruce Lee’s passing, he still lives in the hearts of Hong Kong generations. However, it is a significant regret that we were unable to preserve the house as a landmark to the late martial arts superstar after all.

In 2008, the owner of Bruce Lee’s former residence Mr Yu Panglin wanted to put the house and four other properties up for auction. Since then, we, the Bruce Lee, together with a large number of Bruce Lee fans and prominent social figures, has been working hard for the restoration of his former residence in proposing that "the owner shall keep it and the government shall bear it".

Unfortunately, the cooperation between the owner and the government has foundered at the critical moment due to various interests. However, we have not given up. We have been looking for other ways to bring Bruce Lee's former resident back to life : to become a must-see for Bruce Lee fans and visitors from all over the world, as well as a place of worship for this martial arts superstar who admired by Hong Kong people and the whole world!

In 2015, Mr Yu Panglin passed away and the “Love Hotel” that rented the property has closed down, leading to the vacancy of the property. Until the end of last year, the Yu Panglin Charity Foundation rented the property to a college and tried to refurbish it. Unfortunately, many illegal constructions and demolition were found inside the building. Under the circumstance of unforeseeable, inability and Unwillingness, the former residence of Bruce Lee will be demolished and rebuild with the simplest way.

In this regard, our 11 years of hard work to preserve a unique attraction in Hong Kong for the world has come to an end.

復建故居夢絕！哀！

致全球李小龍迷

收到準確消息，位於九龍塘金巴倫道41號的「李小龍故居」將被拆卸，夷為平地，從此復建故居夢絕！

李小龍，是香港的另一個名字，兩者互為相連，雖然他離去近半世紀，但仍然活在每一代香港人的心裏，可哀的是，他唯一在港的故居，我們無法為他保存。

2008年，業主余彭年準備將此居和其他四所物業拍賣，自此本會與一眾龍迷、社會賢達，同為爭取復建「龍居」努力，提出「業主保留 政府承担」，並四出游說不同持份者，提出各種可行構思，令政府與業主幾近達成協議，可惜到關鍵時刻，因種種利益關係，最終業主與政府合作告吹，然而，我們並沒有放棄，一直尋求其他方法，企望能將李小龍故居復活，成為全球龍迷及訪港旅客必到之處，也為這位令我們香港人引以為傲、中外景仰的一代武術巨星，有其應得之殿堂！

2015年余彭年去世，一直租用金巴倫道41號的時鐘酒店結業，自此物業懸空，後來余之慈善基金會於去年底租予一所教育學院，並嘗試進行改建，可惜發現內部有許多違建違拆，在「三無」——無準備、無力、無心的情況下，準備以最簡單方法，將「龍居」拆毀，夷平後重建。

可惜，十一年來眾人的努力，終告白費！
本來，香港會有一處舉世獨有的景點，也終告落空！
